If the theory in this case is correct let the lawless beware. The citizens of Utah are armed and are partners with the police. We will protect ourselves.

There had BETTER NOT be charges filed against the homeowner, because he was simply protecting his property. If the homeowner is charged, than that will show how incredibly stupid the cops really are, at least the ones here in Utah.
If the homeowner wanted to avoid charges, he should have called the police as soon after firing the shots as he was able to ascertain he and his family were safe.
Why did he wait until the next day to report that he shot someone who was trying to break into his house? What was/is he hiding?
Homeowner is safe, and burglar is in the hospital, and now in jail.
What's not to like about this scenario?
Score one for the good guys.
To bad he lived. Thats the real tragedy.
