How did he make 'contact' with the side of the train? Crossed the yellow line, I suspect? People need to heed the warnings and stay clear of the trains while on the platform.
Its sad that the trains conductor has to be put on administrative leave and do a standard drug and alcohol test because of other people's stupidity, why cant we put blame where the obvious blame is?
I am puzzled by the description of what happened here. I was on a TRAX train going the other direction (south) when this happened. I didn't see the contact but I did see him in the middle of the street. I don't see how a train that is just coming to a stop or just leaving the station would have put someone in the hospital in critical condition. I do hope he is OK.
The train was just leaving the station, and he was trying to open one of the doors after the train was moving. Those tranes accelerate pretty quickly, all it would take is to be knocked over and hit your head on the street, or something.
I"m sure the train operator is traumatized enough without being subjected to tests to prove he didn't do anything wrong.
