To Megan Joy and Scott McIntyre. I remember her, she is vivacious and very talented in my opinion. But what do I know? I got so frustrated watching Idol in the beginning of this round. I would watch and listen to the songs Megan Joy sang. (Glad you shortened your name!) The judges would rip her to shreds and I was dumbfounded since I thought she was amazing! So I quit watching. Scott, the best to you and your ability to connect to the audience. You have so much talent as well. Have a great experience and remember, the judges don't always know everything, they kind of manipulate the results, and it makes some of us sick by the way it all turned out. Talent? Yes, you both have it and need to enjoy the spotlight while it is yours on this tour!!! May much good come of this tour for all ten of you! A Salt Lake Fan.

Great review. Glad you covered everyone. I agree that Adam was amazing. A real star.
wtdp | 5:55 a.m. July 15, 2009
I understand your talking about Megan, but I'm looking for the rest of the article where you talk about Adam Lambert, a phenomonal showman and vocalist who is going to be an international star. That's who people are screaming for at every show. Not only is he light years ahead of the rest of them talent wise, he's a beautiful person, inside and out.

REally? I am so tired of American Idol!
Megan Joy | 8:29 a.m. July 15, 2009
Cool tone to her voice, but can't stay on key. Pretty girl though. I guess 2 our of 3 ain't bad.
Jack | 8:57 a.m. July 15, 2009
I don't see how it is necessary to always say how Adam outshined Kris in cheers. Who cares? Because in reality, Kris outshined Adam in votes.

And Megan Joy placed 9th on Idol, NOT 10th, a fact that would have been known if close attention was paid.
Jenn | 9:04 a.m. July 15, 2009
Wanda, if you're so tired of AI - then why on earth are you reading this....go do something else with your life....

Is that a tattoo? Wow.
Overrated | 9:18 a.m. July 15, 2009
wow, this much excitement over a karaoke contest how lame.
Gayle | 9:57 a.m. July 15, 2009
why do people keep saying Megan is often off key? I am a music teacher who has a pretty good sense of pitch and she is right on! (Dont care for the tattoo though.)
Anonymous | 10:13 a.m. July 15, 2009
And the only reason she made it to 9th was because of Vote for the Worst - check out their web site. They picked her as the worst from the beginning and voted for her like crazy so that she made it into the top ten. She needs to send half of whatever she makes on this tour to them.

I met 9 idols :D. Scott and Megan were one of them. Megan is amazing! I love her! And I had a conversation with Scott, he definitely is my inspiration.
Marie | 11:40 a.m. July 15, 2009
I met all of the American Idol's last night and Matt and Danny were by far the nicest and greatest to the crowd waiting. They stopped and talked and took pictures and Matt was so nice! He was playing it up for the little girls. I am the biggest Matt fan after meeting him! Loved the concert, and loved meeting the idols!
Shirley | 11:49 a.m. July 15, 2009
I went to the show and I cheered so loud for Adam. He was amazing. You were right, most of the people there bought tickets to see Adam ONLY. I went to see Adam, Kris and Allison but my main priority was still Adam. He is a star.

This review is great BTW.
Amazing, amazing... | 12:13 p.m. July 15, 2009
Is that the only word you people know? I guess it's better than "awesome", but it makes no sense.

As for Adam Lambert: just make sure he doesn't show up on the Main Street Plaza, and get arrested. Then you'd be condemning him for what he is.
sadiesam | 1:15 p.m. July 15, 2009
great article--this is for Jack--we know Kris got the most votes but it is becoming obvious along the tour that he did not get the most voters--big difference--I love Kris BTW--I am actually happy (at this point) that Adam did not win the title--now he does not have to deal with people saying he did not deserve to win--Adam's talent and the fans reactions are doing the talking for him now--ADAM rocks!!!
Why? | 2:48 p.m. July 15, 2009
I can't believe you are using so much column space on something so trivial. Who cares? Why not put your resources into reporting real news?
A Watcher | 4:38 p.m. July 15, 2009
I can't believe people screamed for Adam,

he just NOT all that,

HE is all showman, all performance, and screaming,

and abslolutley nothing behind it, not emotion, no feeling,

all his stuff is so cold.
jackson | 6:51 p.m. July 15, 2009
Kris is a real artist with a beautiful voice and soul. He sings from his heart and it shows in his performances. He doesn't have to be over the top. From what I have heard and seen, the audience gave just as big a welcome and cheered just as loud if not more for Kris as they did for Adam. Adam fans just can't admit that Kris is loved by America and that is why he won.
jennie | 6:59 p.m. July 15, 2009
To watcher- Adam is an extremely talented singer and artist He is all that and more! He does not scream he hits the high notes and he is always emotionally connected to the performance No he is not cold he isHOT HOT HOT and did I mention sexy talented with the whole IT factor going on...
Wack wack | 7:02 p.m. July 15, 2009
People you can't compare Kris with Adam, they're tottaly different. People are saying that now we're seeing who the real winner is (by hearing too much about Adam). There is a big difference between Adam's fans and Kris's fans, most of kris's fans are down to earth, very conservative, and a lot of them are Christians (they don't like all this bull.. going on in the Internet. Adam's fans are very loud, they like to show who "they think is the best one" and if they're no in complete agree with someone they start arguing about it, the main thing THEY'RE SOOOOO DRAMATIC. Just like Adam... I personaly go for Allison, she's very talented, smart, cute and she just get better everyday... LOVE YOU IRAHETA!!!!
AI Fanatic | 10:59 p.m. July 15, 2009
I'm so glad that Megan had a great homecoming. Good for her. She has an unusual sound. I like it. To be honest I love Kris Allen and can't stand to watch Adam Lambert. All of the theatrics and gyrations are just not my style and actually detract from his incredible voice and range. He may get the young girls screaming because he is a novelty, but Kris Allen has the heart and will be able to make the transition from American Idol to the world of contemporary music that people will buy. Adam doesn't begin to have the whole musical package that Kris has including playing guitar and keyboards, arranging and interpreting music so that it connects with the audience. Adam puts on a Cabaret act and if you like that sort of thing he is good at it. Just not my style. It gets kind of tiresome reading these scream reactions as if that means something. I don't scream when Kris is singing because I want to hear the words and the melody. It is impossible for me to understand how anyone likes that ridiculous Bowie Medley.
mai | 11:58 p.m. July 15, 2009
I love Adam because I've taken my time to really listening to and watching all the songs he had perfomed before, during and after American Idol. His voice has touched the deepest place in my soul. Thank God for creating Adam Lambert.
Vicki | 12:12 a.m. July 16, 2009
Most people do not remember his name or what he sang when they leave the idol tour because Kris is boring. Adam leaves the audience thunderstruck and they are still under his spell when the show ends. It is a joke for you folks to write the Kris fiction that you do. Kris plays a little guitar and very bad piano. I heard his pre idol attempt at song writing and it was dismal. He will be back in Arkansas when his album flops. Get over it. You can steal the vote but you can not change reality. Adam Lambert is the next international superstar. Every night Kris will be reminded that he has a title that was stolen from his friend.
vlight | 1:46 a.m. July 16, 2009
Like the above person said you can't compare Adam and Kris...Adam is a singer, performer, artist who is considerate enough to dress properly for the audience btw and Kris can't even sing the song right...
So no you can't compare them
Kris Won. Get over it.  | 2:54 a.m. July 16, 2009
Adam is seriously talented yes, but KRIS WON. Dude won for a reason. I know SO many people that liked Adam, but voted for Kris simply because they liked him MORE and would buy his albums. Of course Adam is going to get more screams - his fans are more rabid, more of the teeny-boppers. (And by the way a lot of them were dressed? Dang, not cool.)

I know many people from 12-year-olds to my 59-year-old parents that adore Kris (and had me download his music for them!) Kris is so much more appealing than Adam, but judging fan base off of concert screams is flawed. Who is going to go to concerts? Certainly not my parents, but they were willing to each vote for 4 hours each dialing with 2 phones because they loved Kris!
Adam did great on Mad World, but was too over the top the rest of his set. Kris killed it on heartless and only went uphill from there.
marygoround5 | 6:12 a.m. July 16, 2009
Well ,you can say what want.BUT we all know the truth
ADAM is the best!!!!!He is gorgeous to look at. He
is the most exciting to watch. His singing is
absolutely flawless!!!He is a STAR !!!!!!!
JAN LYNN | 7:10 a.m. July 16, 2009
I AM 56 AND ABSOLUTELY LOVE ADAM LAMBERT. HE IS ONE
OF THE MOST TALENTED YOUNG MEN I HAVE HEARD AND
SEEN IN YEARS. I WAS A BIG AEROSMITH, QUEEN,ROLLING
STONE FAN,ETC. ADAM IS A GREAT ROCKER BUT BECAUSE
OF HIS RANGE, CAN SING ANYTHING. NO NEED TO ARGUE
AS THERE IS ENOUGH VARIETY OF TALENT TO PLEASE
EVERYONES TASTE. SMILE AND BE HAPPY. THE CLOCK
IS TICKING.
LKQuinnie | 7:24 a.m. July 16, 2009
From every single review of the show ADAM took the show. As someone said above, Kris may have gotten the most votes but ADAM got the most voters. Remember when Taylor Hicks won over Chris Daughtry? convince me he won because everyone loved him. I read from AI forums that his home state set up camps to get him in by voting non-stop just like Kris. But I don't believe anyone cares who won because the real stars are starting to shine. Past history has proven it doesn't matter who power voted their favorite in.
Maggie Mae | 7:57 a.m. July 16, 2009
This comes from a conservative Republican, Baptist and born and raised in Arkansas...Adam is the bomb!
His voice captured me in the auditions and I never veered off track as a supporter....After hearing Brigadoon performance and Is Anybody Listening from his Ten Commandments performance...I was amazed at his octave range, emotional connections to his songs and each week on idol, he proved it again and again.
Actually, his studio version of "Feeling Good" is just about as good as it could ever get!...I will be cheering for him in Tulsa, Oklahoma! Adam, if you are reading this, Arrowsmith's "Crying" is just awesome, too....WLL is great, but, I love "Crying"
just as much!......can't wait to see and hear more from Adam.....and, I love his Mom and Dad...no wonder he is so good with people, ....he has got
a lot of good training from those two, it's plain to see.....Love the whole Lambert family!....
Idol Watcher | 8:02 a.m. July 16, 2009
I read these posts and blogs to mine what I am going to see when I see the Idol Tour in Detroit in Aug. From what I have read, the whole concert is boring until Adam comes on stage. I guess I won't fight the traffic and the parking issues because I will just show up with my friends for the Adam Concert, leave before Kris sings, and again miss the traffic. THanks everyone for letting me know that this is Adam's first Superstar Concert.
What Joy? | 8:25 a.m. July 16, 2009
Megan needs to go back to her obscurity and just take care of business. Enough of the unsubstantiated hype already.
Anonymous | 8:41 a.m. July 16, 2009
Everyone has their preferences. Like one and not another? That's fine.
Anonymous | 9:52 a.m. July 16, 2009
LKQuinnie, and all of the other Adams freaks: why does it matter? You guys just can't leave it alone that KRIS ALLEN won. Adam is a performer. Kris is a singer. I like Adam, but I love Kris. Adam and Kris like each other (a lot!) heh heh...so why can't the fans just share the love?

Did anyone really expect Kris to top Adam in concert? Come on...really? I never even thought that Adam would be overshadowed by Kris. But Kris is the person I voted for, and he's the person I want to hear sing. The others will just be frosting on the cake because they're all pretty dang good.
deanna | 9:56 a.m. July 16, 2009
Megan was one of my early favs, and my whole family loved her. I'm not into tatoos, but she is a beautiful person. Before she sang Girl Put Your Records On, she said the song put a smile on her face and she hoped it would put a smile on someone else's face. Well, it did. She's just fun to watch perform, and I love her sound and her vibe.

If you can't say something nice, why say anything at all?
Anonymous | 9:56 a.m. July 16, 2009
I'm a fan of Kris, a big fan, and I couldn't care less if Adam getm more "decibels" of screams, or whatever.

I think you can see by the comments here that a portion of Adam's fans are almost unreasonably fanatical about Adam. These people, when they go to the AI concert, are there to scream and shout ONLY for Adam.

Naturally, these people are not cheering for Kris, because, as you can see here, many of them either do not appreciate him, or outright dislike him.

The other thing is, many of them are loudly insistent that Adam is the best, and that he SHOULD HAVE WON, and they are at these concerts to prove to the world that they think that, and that the world should think so too.

If anyone bothers to listen to the videos on YouTube from the tour (especially Salt Lake City), they will see that Kris gets enormous cheers and whistles and screams. His performance of heartless was absolutely sensational. If you want to hear the crowd reaction and the song, just look up "Kris Allen-Heartless-Idols Live Tour."

As somebody said, some of Adam's fans
Laurel | 10:09 a.m. July 16, 2009
I am very brokenhearted to not be able to attend the concert but am keeping up with the editorials and commentaries. They all are written by editors from the cities hosting the AI concert. It appears that Adam is the star of all the shows so far with Allison right behind him, which is my favorites all season anyway. I think Kris is as cute as a button as is Megan, but both are coffee house talents and neither could fill a stadium on their own. Adam is well on his way to being able to do just that. Out of this world talent, hope his head doesn't get too big like Gene Simmons. Very bad trait to have. GO ADAM!!!!!!!!!
Cathy | 10:42 a.m. July 16, 2009
Gee Wanda...you are so tired of American Idol but yet you cannot stay away from the articles about it and the performers. That says something about you not the show or the perforers
Lisa | 10:44 a.m. July 16, 2009
Jack...it took Anoop, Matt, Allison and Danny's fans along with Kris's fans to give him the win. It took Adam's fans to give him second place.
april | 10:51 a.m. July 16, 2009
I LOVE ADAM HE IS SO HOT WHATEVER HE DOSE IS ALWAYS GREAT!!!!!!!!KRIS LOOKS LIKE A MONKEY:)
Anonymous | 11:26 a.m. July 16, 2009
No matter how hard you claim that Kris is talented, he is just an average performer to me. I think he wouldn't have been recognized unless he has played guitar and piano, which is not outstanding as well. On the other hand, Adam is "a true and outstanding entertainer." He makes people have craving for him more and more... it will never end.... It's like drug... but in a good way.
Anonymous | 11:32 a.m. July 16, 2009
Adam is definitely a happy pill for me.
chipitasgirl | 11:40 a.m. July 16, 2009
Adam says it better than anyone.....people will either love him or hate him and that is what music is all about. Something for everyone. Whether you like his music or you don't you cannot deny that his vocal prowess is beyond any Idol ever. And you silly people who think this is all about something besides performance and vocal talent should go get a job and learn about the real worldQQ
Cindy | 1:55 p.m. July 16, 2009
There is room for more than one or two of them to succeed. Look at season 5 and 7. Chris Daughtry, David Cook, David Archuletta, Kelly Pickler, Elliott Yamin, Catherine McPhee, Ace Young, Bucky Covington, Kelly Pickler, Mandisa, Carly Smithson, Jason Castro, Brooke White, Michael Johns, Taylor Hicks are all still in the business. Sanjaya was on TV. He's a sweet guy. This doesn't even include Seasons 1,2,3,or 4. I hope all of the top ten from season eight make it. I don't believe that most of them will be going back to the life they had before.
Absolutely | 1:59 p.m. July 16, 2009
Adam is a "feel good", dynamic, out of this world performer. I am so glad he is getting this kind of reception from his legion of devoted fans. More power to him and looking forward to his solo tour and future recordings.
Layla | 6:05 p.m. July 16, 2009
Adam Lambert is the most amazing performer and singer! I can't wait to see him and get his music.
emy calmerin | 10:13 p.m. July 16, 2009
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, each of us has a favorite and naturally we say good things about his/her performance (for the fact that he/she really performs well)because we appreciate what he/she does... Since we are from a different camp of favorites, maybe all we should do is stop comparing, in order not to offend anyone's feelings...I'm a Adam fan and i honestly feel what other fans feel for Adam and maybe that makes Them loud and proud for him(make it w/out offending others)....Some fans can do thesame, express your feelings(w/out offending others). And through that we can make our favorites(idol contestants) happy and proud for us,too. For Adam and his family may God always bless and keep them!!!!
Jill | 2:28 p.m. July 17, 2009
Well, Arkansas stole the votes... but, Adam stole our hearts.
Eileen | 6:42 p.m. July 17, 2009
I think Adam is the most amazing singer/performer I have ever seen and I'm looking forward to following his career, which I'm sure will be stellar. He is also sexy, gorgeous and gracious, and that says a lot about the way he was raised. I'm enjoying following his performances in each city during the AI Tour. My favorite is the Bowie Medley, hot! hot! hot!! OMG!!!! Go Adam! You rock! And I can't wait to see you in Detroit Aug. 26!!!
