Once again the government has failed to take action to prevent a problem from occurring in the first place. Instead of wiating around for earthquakes to happen, the government should be pro-active in preventing them.

Clem - How is the government supposed to be able to prevent an earthquake? At this time there is no way to prevent an earthquake. The only thing that the government could do is possibly mitigate the effects of a quake.

I live in Navajo Mtn. and it happened at exactly 9:40 p.m. I was sitting on the couch watching tv. It was more of a wave and not dishes rattling. It was one smooth wave. I was sitting by my open living rm window & thought others would come out of their homes; but no one did. They were talking about it at work today though. Some were unaware. YIKES! Don't want to experience that again! Couldn't it have been warned to us?

Another sign of the times. We need to prepare for more of this.

It was just a tiny one because I only last for 5 seconds and my hogan didn't collapse.

well, that's just how the earth is...with tatonic plates, how the magma moves underneath the crust. So we can't do anything to prevent this from ever happening. All we can ever do is hope that it doesn't happen again, or should I say, thank god it was just a very minor one, and one that didn't sink a whole community. I'm thankful for that. At least my friend and family are safe and not injured from the effects or the quake.

Yep! It sure will happen again soon. First it was FIRE on the Mountain and NOW The Quake! Can't you all see the SIGNS. They are right in Front of you and you all just sit there and not do anything. MAKE some PRAYS the NAVAJO WAY. That's what Mother Earth is MISSING. It seems, that we all had FORGOTTEN our TRADITION, and The SOIL we all walk on. My Family and I go out there to see my Grandfather Mr. Buck Navajo to do PRAYERS for us. I am from Nav. Mtn., Towering House Clan. Navajo Mountain is a Great Place to Live and again Please MAKE SOME PRAYERS. For Yourself, Families, Friends, Relatives and most important ONE NAVAJO MOUNTAIN and THE SOIL you walk on. Just be thankful that you are breathing and take it ONE DAY at the TIME. REMEMBER, Put all things a side and get the Prayers done... that's 2 signs and we have 2 more. 4 time in Navajo Way. Thank you, My Relatives. May The Great Spirit Guide You.
