This money cannot, of course, be spent on regular teacher salaries but must be spent on enhancements to the regular, underfunded educational programs the state offers.
We have spent ours on things like, Classroom Aides, Science Lab Supplies, Math Manipulatives, Reading Recovery and Reading Labs, Computer Labs, Tutoring Aides, and Professional Development courses.
The great thing about this money is that it is controlled by the PARENTS. The School Community Councils, by law, must have at least one more parent then school employee and the school administrator cannot be the Chair. This is an easy way to be involved in your schools!
