Happy Birthday Big Ben - a favorite UK landmark! From childhood, I was always fascinated with hearing the beautiful chime in the background for special news reports.
Every time I visit London, I take more pictures of this mechanical marvel of time.
By now, I have a photo collection of Big Ben in the rain, in pure blue sky, showing the mark of time with the quick setting of the sun on a winter afternoon (about 20 minutes), with beautiful white clouds around the Tower of Big Ben, a unique picture of an airplane caught in the distant sky, looking as if it were a toy - level with Big Ben. And the best yet - Big Ben carefully centered in the center of the London Eye (across the Thames). All my own photographs!
I plan to make a collage of this wonderful landmark. I'll watch for a news photo of this special day - since I can't make it over in time for a new picture! Better yet - please email a picture of the celebration.
