The U.S. Religious Landscape Survey by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life lists the following percentages of adults in the U.S.:

23.9% Catholic
26.3% Evangelical Protestant
18.1% Mainline Protestant
1.7% Mormon
1.7% Jewish
16.1% Unaffiliated.

The Pew Forum says there are 44% male and 56% female Mormons, so single ladies, know that not all of you will be married in the church through no fault of your own. The survey says there are 12% unmarried Mormons.

By contrast, there are more Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, and Hindu males than females in the U.S.

57% of Mormons believe theirs is the one true religion and 39% of Mormons believe many religions can lead to eternal life.

35% of Mormons believe that scripture is literally true word for word, and 57% of Mormons believe scripture is the word of God, but not literally true word for word.

The numbers game is just that — it all depends on how you obtain and compile the numbers.
