Colonel Halvorsen was my base commander while I was stationed in West Berlin in the USAF. I have heard his story several times directly from him. I could listen to his story over and over. I am impressed with Colonel Halvorsen, not just because of what he did, but because of who he is. He is a humble, honest man of integrity. His life is one that I would like to emulate.
