They already did Lee. Last November on Election Day. Did you miss it.

Maybe next time the Republicans are entrusted with the White House and control of Congress they'll take better care of it and re-earn our trust.

Maybe.

According to the Libidiots, nothing can be changed. "Yes we can" drink the kool-aid seems to have a never ending sight. However, I do think in 3 1/2 years, Obama will be handed the door, I'm just not certain if he'll get the silver, gold, bronze, copper, rusty door handle. I'm hoping it's the latter!!!

where was this guy? | 6:48 a.m. July 10, 2009
Where was this guy when Cheney/Bush started an illegal war based on lies against a sovereign country (that goes on and on) giving him complete control (executive privilege to do anything) and now our country is bankrupt trying to pay for it?

Rise up? | 7:30 a.m. July 10, 2009
What exactly do you mean? March on the White House with pitchforks and torches?

We DID rise up. At the voting booth. We rid ourselves of the 8 year cancer that was the Bush administration. You had your chance, and ran our country and our world reputation into the sewer.
Mike

To "Rise up? | 7:30 a.m." so you say "We rid ourselves of the 8 year cancer that was the Bush administration" When all we did is replace a mild cancer with a more agressive cancer. Also, FYI, the democrats are the ones that have been approving the insanity of the past 2 1/2 years. They have been enabling the president to do anything.

The problem with your cancer analogy is that the cancer is still there, only you don't recognize it.

I love these "Obama is the root of all evil, and was probably the serpent in the Garden of Eden" letters! They cause a good laugh.
Somebody, please name one law he has violated in his presidency? What part of the constitution is under constant siege? Please tell me what article or ammendment he has violated. He has not taken away your right to speech, religion, your guns and he is not quartering soldiers in your homes. Has he suspended trial by jury? Placing a poll tax? Disallowing women the right to vote? Allowing Congress a pay raise before the next election? Please tell me what part of the Constitution has been placed under siege.

Here Mike is venting, as all people should be about the mess the GOP left us in, and Ta DA! In rides RedShirt to the rescue, dispensing one of his cookie-cutter right-wing wisdom pellets, so deftly offered up from his bright red pez dispenser.

I was a resident of Utah, until such time as the one-way political street there made life uncomfortable. I delight in reading the Deseret News, and see that you are a regular contributor to the forums here. Unfortunately, your comments all sound alike, sort of a drone.
Reminds me of 'Charlie Brown's teacher".

just wait a few years and let all the over-reaching come to fruition. Your right to life, liberty and private property will be gone. When you have been taxed to death, don't come crying to me.

With all due respect, you just gave me the same jingle everyone else has, with no specific example.

My question still stands.

Re: Rise Up? | 9:10 a.m. July 10, 2009
"We DID rise up. At the voting booth. We rid ourselves of the 8 year cancer that was the Bush administration."

Actually, Bush was ineligible to run in 2008 since he had already served two terms. He was not on the ballot. So nothing happened in the voting booth that "rid ourselves" of the Bush administration - the Constitution did that without us.

Shows how little liberals know about the Constitution and laws in general.....

But my hat's off to you - the liberals convinced a bunch of gullible moderate independents to vote for a man who's proving to be an inept moron. As much as I don't like McCain, we would be far better off today if he were President. I think that's what the letter writer meant by "rise up." Let's rise up and find a real President who cares about people, not controlling everything.

Hypocrisy | 9:18 a.m. July 10, 2009
So Neocons, you want to RISE UP and CHANGE the government. Easy to say. So what are your solutions? Elect Palin? Invade another country? Tax cuts for the rich? Spy on the text messages of citizens? Have more affairs in Argentina?

See, it's easy to complain, but a lot more difficult to find solutions. Electing a Republican led Congress would bring our government to a standstill, NOTHING would ever get resolved as opposed to a few things getting resolved.

Neocons, there's a reason why your party lost control over Congress and the White House the past few years.

Find solutions or just stop complaining.

polls changing  | 9:37 a.m. July 10, 2009
national polls all show a sharp decline in support for the great Zeus Obama. Insane spending and deficits, ridiculously wasteful use of tax payer stimulus money, continued appeasement overseas, radical social policy, huge tax INCREASES every where you turn with the proposed cap and trade policy well as the looming socialized health care monster. Add to all of this a national unemployment picture that will soon hit 10% with no end in sight (Obama warned without his giant stimulus bill unemployment would hit 9% a few months ago). The bottom line, Obama-nomics is NOT working and in fact many economists say it is BECAUSE of his insane out of control spending that we are still in a recession. The stimulus money has done nothing for the recession and in fact unemployment has increased 2 percentage points since this stupid wasteful bill was passed and now Obama is talking about another stimulus bill. One thing is clear, Obama is NO LEADER and I understand many who voted for him are wanting their vote back!!

The answer to Lee's question is that Americans will "rise up" around the same time the Iranians do. In the meantime, I suggest that at night you get up on your roof and shout "God is Great!".

What he meant was that we rid ourselves of the cancerous GOP, not so much Bush. Everyone knows of the 2 term limits.
Too bad they don't apply to Hatch and Bennett.

RedShirt | 10:23 a.m. July 10, 2009
To "Dear RedShirt | 8:43 a.m." what year did the GOP leve us this mess? Was it this year when Obama was took the oath of office? Was it 2006 when the Democrats took control of congress and became responsible for creating the federal budget?

If you look at what Wikipedia has on the national debt since 2000, you can see that the Republicans took us from 58% to 64.9% of the GDP. Since the Democrats became the guardians of the Federal Budget, it has gone from 64.9% to 70.2% between 2006 and 2008, and is estimated to baloon to 90% at the end of the 2009 fiscal year. So, it took the Republicans 6 years to increase the national debt by nearly 7%, and now the Democrats, in 3 years, will increase the debt by an estimated 25% GDP. So, who is creating the mess?

The correct answer is, anyboy who voted for the deficit spending over the past 30 years, and that includes Obama, Bush, the Republicans, and the Democrats that voted for the deficit spending.

Yeah? Look at all the GOP still defending their dead and irrelevant party to the end!
And this Democratic surge isn't going to go away. Not with the possible candidates you have to battle back?
McCain? We showed him the door.
Palin? She can't even SPELL Palin!
Romney? That flip-flopper may not be a republican by the time the next election rolls around. Heck, he might not be a republican next week!
So run around in circles. Curse Obama. Wring your hands.
YOur pithy and sophomoric tantrums fall on ears that don't care. It's our turn now.
