Maybe next time the Republicans are entrusted with the White House and control of Congress they'll take better care of it and re-earn our trust.
Maybe.
We DID rise up. At the voting booth. We rid ourselves of the 8 year cancer that was the Bush administration. You had your chance, and ran our country and our world reputation into the sewer.
Mike
The problem with your cancer analogy is that the cancer is still there, only you don't recognize it.
Somebody, please name one law he has violated in his presidency? What part of the constitution is under constant siege? Please tell me what article or ammendment he has violated. He has not taken away your right to speech, religion, your guns and he is not quartering soldiers in your homes. Has he suspended trial by jury? Placing a poll tax? Disallowing women the right to vote? Allowing Congress a pay raise before the next election? Please tell me what part of the Constitution has been placed under siege.
I was a resident of Utah, until such time as the one-way political street there made life uncomfortable. I delight in reading the Deseret News, and see that you are a regular contributor to the forums here. Unfortunately, your comments all sound alike, sort of a drone.
Reminds me of 'Charlie Brown's teacher".

With all due respect, you just gave me the same jingle everyone else has, with no specific example.
My question still stands.

Way to go! Love the "pellets" ref.!

Actually, Bush was ineligible to run in 2008 since he had already served two terms. He was not on the ballot. So nothing happened in the voting booth that "rid ourselves" of the Bush administration - the Constitution did that without us.
Shows how little liberals know about the Constitution and laws in general.....
But my hat's off to you - the liberals convinced a bunch of gullible moderate independents to vote for a man who's proving to be an inept moron. As much as I don't like McCain, we would be far better off today if he were President. I think that's what the letter writer meant by "rise up." Let's rise up and find a real President who cares about people, not controlling everything.
See, it's easy to complain, but a lot more difficult to find solutions. Electing a Republican led Congress would bring our government to a standstill, NOTHING would ever get resolved as opposed to a few things getting resolved.
Neocons, there's a reason why your party lost control over Congress and the White House the past few years.
Find solutions or just stop complaining.
Too bad they don't apply to Hatch and Bennett.
Joe
If you look at what Wikipedia has on the national debt since 2000, you can see that the Republicans took us from 58% to 64.9% of the GDP. Since the Democrats became the guardians of the Federal Budget, it has gone from 64.9% to 70.2% between 2006 and 2008, and is estimated to baloon to 90% at the end of the 2009 fiscal year. So, it took the Republicans 6 years to increase the national debt by nearly 7%, and now the Democrats, in 3 years, will increase the debt by an estimated 25% GDP. So, who is creating the mess?
The correct answer is, anyboy who voted for the deficit spending over the past 30 years, and that includes Obama, Bush, the Republicans, and the Democrats that voted for the deficit spending.
And this Democratic surge isn't going to go away. Not with the possible candidates you have to battle back?
McCain? We showed him the door.
Palin? She can't even SPELL Palin!
Romney? That flip-flopper may not be a republican by the time the next election rolls around. Heck, he might not be a republican next week!
So run around in circles. Curse Obama. Wring your hands.
YOur pithy and sophomoric tantrums fall on ears that don't care. It's our turn now.
