Comments about ‘Man in MySpace sexual-assault case is charged’

I am all for reforming sex offender laws; however, this guy is one of few bad apples out there on the registry. More needs to be done to prevent people like him from getting such short sentences; in the first case he made threats and had a shotgun. Really, come-on? Why didn't he get more time and more charges for the threats?

It's guys like this that make it hard on the rest of us out there who paid our debt to society and are trying to rebuild our lives as lawabiding citizens.

Where were the parents during all of this email stuff? Are things at home so bad the girl has to find acceptance through online contacts? Have you no clue what your child is/was doing? For shame!

In reference to "Madmikes'" question. The parents were heavily Involved In this young girls life. Very close supervision, Always In Contact with school teachers, church leaders, friends, * and met EACH FRIENDS' parents, or parent before there was even a trip to the movies.BUT, regardless of what you teach youre children, and try to Instill in them ,IE values,morals, commonsense, etc. Ultimatley It comes down to the fact that unless you are the Almighty Himself, that Isnt going to happen.Our TAX FUNDED library system offers web access with or w/o a library card. w/o one Its just a buck to use It. Which How This VERY LIKELY TRANSPIRED! I know this family very well, and will tell you , and anyone else that reads this, that you would be hard pressed to find a more open and loving set of parents. The Father happens to be a master of the martial arts ( 2 different disciplines) . This predator Is extremely fortunant that the father used this DISCIPLINE to take It to the police! I dont know If I ,or many fathers could exersize that restraint. Any tips on perfect paenting would always welcome. Peace be with you!
