Comments about ‘Animals removed from feces-filled home’

If he is mentally incapable of controlling his own life then he should be in a place where he can be helped. The house should be torn down because no-one would want to buy a house with that kind of filth and disease seeping in and out of the wood or drywall. You can't "clean" that degree of filth out. The $ from the sale of the property could help to support him in his new place of care.

Why is the county (tax payer) paying to clean this mess up? Shouldn't the homeowner be responsible to clean it up.

Reread the article the man has a mental condition if they stated he needed a guardian. Maybe the general public should be helping people with these issues a little more often.

Someone related to this man has seen this disgusting situation I guarantee you. Where are they in this fiasco? Let them make the decision as to where he needs to go or be sent. Burn the Home and sell the property and put him in a controlled apartment enviroment. The man is mentally out of it!

City Ordinances involving dogs are violated in every city in America, hundreds of thousands of times. Every city has "animal control" ordinances, but there virtually no enforcement. Endless barking dogs, dogs running loose, dogs pooping on everyone's yard--cities don't care, don't enforce, and leave it up to the neighbors to "try and work things out" with the neighbor. Dog owners, by in large, are completely disrespectful of their neighbors, they don't care if their neighbors don't like their barking dogs.

How about a raid on some ordinance violators, like they did against the good citizens of Blanding? You know, call in about 50 FBI agents with weapons drawn, and police cars everywhere--to arrest someone for possessing an arrowhead. Well do the same thing with these dog owners. Their offense is far, far worse that picking up an arrowhead somewhere.

most dog owners feel the pet is part of the family and probably treat them better than you treat your kids. Don't try to group people together like you did - it shows ignorance of the facts. Just because you don't like dogs (obviously) doesn't mean everyone is like you.

I am really glad you are not my neighbor. You would complain about my dogs (simply because they are dogs) and I would complain about you (simply because you're a strange mormon.)

I don't even think this man owned a dog?? At least the article didn't mention it. This dude was a Cat owner....14 to be exact.

I agree with "where is his family?", someone within his circle of friends/family knew of this condition and did nothing. He needs to be institutionalized so no more animals are subjected to his illness. Social services really dropped the ball on this one.

I am a dog owner and I absolutely care about my neighbors. If my dog is barking outside I go see whats up with her and make sure she stops or bring her inside. She is never out before 9AM or after 10PM except for a quick supervized bathroom break.

Don't lump us all together. You sound like you could use a companion yourself.
