How sad for the community. We all have our favorite restaurants and it is very sentimental.

I am wondering if the fire department has thermal imaging cameras. My understanding is that they would have seen the danger in the ceiling, roof area and would have gotten out before it collapsed. Many firefighters are killed by that very thing. My family helped raise funds for our local fire department to purchase thermal imaging cameras in northern California. If your local fire departments don't have them, come on people. It is worth the time and energy to come together and help them purchase them. They do save firefighters lives.

So sad. I will miss that restaurant. Hope they can rebuild? I am so very grateful though that all those firemen got out. Would have made for an even sadder news this morning if lives had also been lost. I'll bet there was some "divine intervention" going on inside that burning restaurant. Could have been a double tragedy!

Too bad--

They served decent food but now they can rebuild and it will automatically be cleaner for a while----

How sad. hoping to get spaghetti when they remodel,i hope they will? so sorry to hear and see that, hope to see it rise again. there are other jim's but this one is my fav one.. thanks for good food. i will be waiting. Good Luck to all.

Silver Lining & Brighter Side

I know this was a REAL tragedy, no doubt. Dark Clouds can hang over something like this; however look at how fortunate it was FOR EVERYONE that NO ONE was in the restaurant at the time of the fire! It could have been an electrical short somewhere. It saved so many lives from the comments and how close every one was. YOU ARE ALL ALIVE even though you are without a building. I hope the owner had good insurance. It will help on the relocation. You have now a new beginning and possibly relocate and start afresh! Life is so fragile. Embrace it and don't look back. You will get through this with one another to cheer yourselves forward. Best wishes for the owner, his family and his employees/friends for a quick recovery from this. Watch, you will have a new story to tell when all this is resolved. Fresh Courage Take and accept you will make it work no matter what. It is a refinement at best.

A long-time, local restaurant in my town burned down and they rebuilt and have more than doubled their business and are thriving. You might say it was a "blessing in disguise". I hope the best for all those involved with the business.

Concerned

West Jordan Fire Department doesn't have too good of a track record when it comes to fires - look at Oquirrh Elementary, West Jordan High Seminary building, and the dental office building off of 78th and 27th. Any one else concerned?

Concerned - you might have a point if the fire were still going....

I hope everything goes well for the owner and the family and the employs god bless!!!

stacy,

have you ever eaten there ??

maybe the cause of the blaze was "greek lightning." it strikes in the northeast frequently. that place was a dive and the food was nasty; i can't imagine business has been very profitable these past few years.
