Suton may look a lot better in a structured game. Good luck to Allred in Europe.
I am not worried about Maynor's shot. His shooting percentages seemed okay to me giving the helter skelter of the summer league game.
Maynor is smooth, a good defender, opportunistic and unselfish. He is going to make a very good PG. His shooting will be excellent in the Jazz system.
Even now, given the chaos of these games it is obvious Maynor know how to run a team.
If Maynor is Marbury without the head then the Jazz did very well on draft day.
It seems that the "phonetic" in Allred's quote be "phrenetic." Otherwise, it seems an odd word choice.
I think to start the season that Maynor will be the 3rd pg in the rotation but by the mid point then he will be the 2nd pg and price will be traded. I like the kid and think he will be one of if not the best back up pg by the end of the season. It wouldn't suprise me to see him and Dwill playing at the same time when teams go small
And what exactly does "hindered to the athleticism" mean?
He will be the 2 guard, we don't have any other guards, Price is leaving the team.
What?
We are not starting a 6' 2" rookie at 2 guard!! Where do you people come up with this stuff?
Where is Ronnie Brewer going? (Not that he is a real shooting guard but he is nonetheless the person who starts at that position).
Price is leaving the team? You act like he has given notice or something. Price is a free agent which means he is currently available to sign elsewhere but has openly stated that he wishes to remain here.
The Jazz ALWAYS carry 3 PG's and this year will be no different. Let me help you count. D-Will, Maynor, and ? (Price or someone else). Whether it will be Price or another PG remains to be seen but it is possible, unless Price has signed somewhere else already today that I am unaware of, that Price could return.
Seriously, where do you come up with this stuff?
The Jazz have carried three points guards since, what, the late eighties? As O'Connor said, coach is still here, so they'll be carrying three point guards as usual. Sloan has been very vocal about his desire to have Price return as the back up point guard. As he said about Maynor, he'll have a good opportunity to learn behind Deron Williams and Ronnie Price. That is Kevin O'Connor and Jerry Sloan talking. I'd probably listen to them, not local yahoo sports talk radio show hosts who say Price is gone because Maynor was drafted or that the Jazz will only carry two point guards because of their salary situation.
If the Jazz don't reup Ronnie Price they would be well served to sing Kevin Krueger. Kevin is a solid pont guard that can run an offense and shoot the 3. Kevin's done a great job with the Utah Flash and I think he could help the Jazz. He certainly would not cost them much money either.
This guy is going to be just like Morris Almond....1 and DONE...I do not know why all you jazz fans get so excited over the new draft pick.....oh and buy the way....the jazz will still LOSE next season so it don't matter!!!!
