a council committed to tax reduction, not only in the recession / depression. Nationally there are an estimated 16.5 % of the population either unemployed or underemployed.
If it means taxes go down proportionately then there's something good might come out of "the current economic climate". Still, it seems unlikely to happen long term in the "liberal" Salt
Lake area.
It's only when people are being hit hard that they get any sense. As long as it's someone else that is suffering the consequences we're suckers for increasing taxes.
Mayor Corroon is the best thing that ever happened to SL Co. government. We should all hope that he runs for governor - and wins.
You are more than welcome to pay the $10--No one is stopping you. Just send them a check. I only ask that you don't make everyone else pay just because you want to.
Mr. Corroon did well in vetoing the bill. Taking money out of public pockets and putting it into gov. pockets has never helped a recession.
Protecting government jobs will only cost private jobs. Either I get to spend my money-that I worked hard for-on what I want, or government types steal it from me and allocate it where they want.
I say, let the people spend their own money.
