Just because there weren't a lot of people at the theater doesn't mean there weren't a lot of people at home equally emotional. Long live the King of Pop.

No, actually I think it DOES!

I think the small number of people at the memorial shows just how overblown this whole thing is and how unworthy of all the front-page hype you're giving it.

I was there and I still think a lot of it was just poor promotion. I found out about the broadcast 30 minutes before it started via KSL. They didn't really promote it any other way.

It WAS about poor promotion. I was looking up and down for some kind of public MJ tribute in UT, and if I had known about Provo, I would have totally been down there!

I have no problem with people mourning the loss of a figure that has touched their lives. Music can have a strong influence on people, and there really isn't anything wrong with that. Yes Michael had problems, no he didn't do anything as heroic as our firemen or policemen (though he did donate an enormous amount to charities.) But he did create great music, and that is more important than some may realize.

I count 4 mourners. Otherwise consider the seats empty. Come on folks help out a little. Show some manners.

worthy of your mourning have died since MJ died. They're called soldiers, marines, airmen, and sailors. They are far more deserving of your tears than this self involved nitwit who couldn't manage his own life. Mourn those who have sacrificed for you.

As stated above, there's nothing wrong with those are mourning someone who created music that helped make people's lives just a little bit better. Music can have a strong effect on people's lives, and no there is nothing wrong with that or in respecting the artist for being able to create that music (even if that artist had many, many personal problems.) I, personally, never got into his music, but I know a lot of people who did love what he created and for them it truly brought them joy. And anyone who can create art like that is deserving of some praise and some tears.

So stop repeating the same thing over and over - you're not qualified to tell us who is "worthy" of tears. This is the way things have been for a long time, and it is selfish and shortsighted to criticize those who are moved by his death.

"Selfish" is a perfect word to describe MJ. He should have been called the King of Selfish for his totally self indulgent lifestyle.
