Now we have two comedians in office; one in the White house and one in the senate. Thanks Minn. and Ill.

After the last eight years, I'm ready for a little laughter to replace the tears.

It's a sad day when low life Saturday Night Live comedian's are elected to congress but it is nothing more than a further sad testament to the lowly state of our society in the US.

Because doggonit, he's liberal enough, and knows how to steal an election enough, and the libs like him.....

I wonder if his legislation will be as creative as his comedy?

Apparently, Utah Republicans will never find a
Democrat they cannot find something bad to say about. Better a professional comedian than a bad joke like Rush Limbaugh, head of the Republican Party.

I wonder if his pathetic comedy writers are going to script his senate actions?

the sad thing is that you think things would be better if norm coleman were still a senator ... now, there's a real joke..

He attended Harvard College and graduated cum laude in 1973 with a bachelor of arts degree in political science.

He appears to be quite intelligent.

Al you’re amazing. Being a great comic, people failed to see there was more to you than, jokes. Having a sense of humor and being creative are true blessings. Who, watching Saturday Nite Live, would have though you attended Harvard and graduated cum laude in 1973 with a degree in political science.

You have served as a volunteer with the USO since he first visited Kosovo in 1999. You have conducted several overseas tours to both Iraq and Afghanistan, in addition to participating in numerous celebrity handshake tours at military hospitals to visit wounded soldiers.

You will be a great Senator.

"Because doggonit, he's liberal enough, and knows how to steal an election enough, and the libs like him...."

Fact:"The Young Political Majors LLC is a small private consulting firm which has registered about 70,000 Republican party voters in 2008. Also known as YPM, the firm has been hired in several states as part of the GOP get-out-the-vote effort; YPM is paid between $7-12 per registration.Los Angeles Times: Voters say they were duped into registering as Republicans (October 18, 2008)1

Reports in several states have surfaced alleging that YPM duped voters into changing their registrations. In investigating these claims, the Los Angeles Times randomly interviewed 46 of the hundreds of voters who records show were recently re-registered as Republicans. Over 80% of them said they had been misled into making the change.Los Angeles Times: Voters say they were duped into registering as Republicans (October 18, 2008)"
Transformation? | 3:16 p.m. July 7, 2009
Re: "Al Franken became a senator on Tuesday, completing the transformation from comedian to politician."

Transformation? You've got to be kidding. This is the funniest schtick he's ever done!

And then, to top it off, having Joe Biden swear him in!

I just can't stop laughing!
RE: Anonymous | 6:28 p.m. July 7, 2009
If acorn and the liberals can do it,

then it should be good for YPM.
can't believe it | 10:31 p.m. July 7, 2009
Senator Hatch gave him a big bear hug today on the Senate floor....really? Just another reason why Hatch needs to come home. Franken is a joke...everyone knows it...Minnesota should be embarrassed.

Comedians have to be smart. How many funny stupid people do you know?

They also need to have a deep insight into society. Most comedy is a fine line between poking fun at societal institutions while not steping over into vulgarity or nastiness.
