They don't listen | 5:27 a.m. July 7, 2009
While the masses of voters have no lobbyist or PAC's championing for their voice, our elected officials assume that special interest groups speak for all of the Utah citizens. Our elected officials seem to forget that they are working for the silent majority and not non voters.

Case in point, most of the Utah people are against welfare to illegal aliens defrauding taxpayers out of taxes and funds.

Another point is we are against socialized medicine and insurance programs. We can't afford more taxes on our incomes to fund special tax paid programs to benefit only one segment of society, especially when it goes to illegal aliens.

Another case in point is allowing business to employ illegal aliens against all immigration laws and ignoring the rights of the citizens to prevent illegal cheap labor to undermine wages and job benefits. That is why we have immigration laws that serve the american citizens. No if's, and's, or but's about it, illegals and employers have destroyed the american dream.

We speak but they don't listen, and it is a continual battle of citizens against illegals for jobs and social programs.

I agree with They Don't Listen. In addition "we the people" sometimes forget that this is a Republic which means that we the people have to do more than vote. We have to get informed and educate ourselves! That is very difficult in a time when the media distorts the issues and the pressing and vital issues are lost because of sensational stories. It takes a lot of effort and I mean a lot to ignore the media bias and find the vital issues and the truth. We should avoid allowing laws and regulations that benefit the "common good" while depriving individuals of their liberty. Illegal immigrants do not fall into "we the people" because they are not part of the citizenry. Socialized medicine & insurance programs for example are harmful to the individual citizen. When a program becomes law individual liberty is stolen. It is time we take back our liberty. Only "we the people" can do that. Our representatives are not going to do it for us.
