What happened to Luis Miguel Escalada?

NO!!!! That's awful! What the heck, RSL!? ou guys better have something up your sleeve, because that's a HUGE loss.

RSL let Escalada go a couple of weeks ago.
Sadly, Europe is Europe, and that is where players want to play. Europa league, Champions League, and a chance to play where soccer is the number 1 sport.
This is going to hurt this team, but hopefully we can start looking for a quality striker. In our current 5 game unbeaten streak, Yura has had a hand in scoring at least one goal in each of those games. He will always be remembered for putting RSL into the playoffs, and putting us into the conference finals.

There is no logical reason for him leaving except for money. We likely have a better team but cant pay the same for our players

Maybe MLS should stand for minor league soccer. It's no secret that the European leagues are more desirable to most players, but how many have returned to the MLS after a few years in Europe? The MLS will continue to grow which will help retain talent and attract more foreign talent. Don't believe me? Look at Seattle's average attendance.

I've seen soccEr and spelling competitions both on ESPN. Maybe you should pay closer attention to these events.

Yura was going nowhere in KC. Kreis gave him his chance and the fans stuck with him as he sprayed shot after shot into the stands. "He's young," we were told, every time he selfishly went for a 30 yard volley rather than playing a simple ball across to his teammate in the box. "He'll come good for us someday." Now someday isn't coming, and I for one am not inclined to take that graciously, particularly when I see this kid we committed to holding up another club's shirt and beaming like he just won the lottery. I'm booing him loud and long on Saturday, and I encourage anyone who needs an example on how to treat young turncoats to reference Wayne Rooney's departure from Everton.

So, is there any "rumblings" or any rumors as to what direction RSL heads now, and any players they're looking at? Are they looking at a trade within MLS, or are they looking internationally?

MLS isn't EPL, but surely it's better than Denmark. When a player leaves for a small, european league, I'm left scratching my head. Yes, yes I know that Spain and Italy and Germany and perhaps a few other countries have very high profile leagues. But not every league in Europe is better than America's.

I suppose an argument can be made that in Denmark, he'll be more visible to the bigger European clubs. But is that really true? The big clubs don't seem to have any trouble finding talented players in MLS.

What is RSL going to do now that they can't get exciting tie after tie after tie? The bongo drum section will be forced to actually watch the games? Just shows MLS is Minor League Soccer.

not really sad to see Yura leave, I believe we have seen his potential, the only problem is now, we have to find someone else and regain team chemistry...which is extremely important for teams, especially strikers.

Chadders I agree. I know you are going to say "there he goes again being negative" but I wonder if he and Kreis get along. One has to at least question this. Soccer fans, I hear the Dane league is very very weak. Mls is probably better. Copenhagen has dominated for years and have been the best many years of inferior lots. Small stadiums. Little TV, my question why? Who would this young man leave for Denmark? Bigger league in Europe I could see even Belgium and Holland leagues are better..

I reserve comment until this day because this has been very hard for Fedor. Yura is awesome and always been true ReAL warrior. I can not blame him for take the money, contract and leave. But it will leave a whole in heart that won't soon heal. Football is most popular sport in Denmark, Yura will be the hero. To Yura, when you go, take your frikadeller, smoked fish, lager, Euro train pass, clogs.... and don't forget your flag of RSL so you never forget the fans that love Yura back in this USA.
