I would never buy prepared food from someone's truck, but if others want to, let them. How much safety does "government inspection" provide? Please. Think back to, oh, two days ago when there was yet another massive recall on beef? What about the peanut problem? Peppers? Lettuce? Cantaloupes? Tomatoes?
Our government inspectors are a joke. Unfortunately, a deadly one for some.

In the story "distribution of home-made products", I guess we break the law each time we prepare and serve food at a church potluck dinner!

mmmm tamales | 11:43 a.m. July 5, 2009
Dang, they make the best tamales esp around Christmas. One just needs to be careful and buy from a person you know year after year. Hey, I have gotten sick before eating at the New Yorker. Oh yes, on on my way to a big 4th BBQ I had a bite of the neighbors salsa and I lived thru that ha ha.

Private functions such as church dinners are exempted; the law only covers people who sell food to the public. In other words businesses, not private citizens.
