RSL looked better with 10 men on the field than it did with 11. Of course, that was partly due to San Jose playing extremely conservatively in hopes of protecting their lead. Regardless, the end of the game was very exciting.
Low energy! Stupid red card by Espindola. Wake up team and stop getting stupid red cards. Williams worked his tail off and Jason subs him at 60 minutes and instantly we are down 1-0. dumb sub. If anyone should have come off it was Morales. He looked asleep until the 70th minute and never chased the ball the first half. The right side was open the entire first half the back line played it up the left every time with NO change of field. Wake up team! In the end we tie because they score for us. What a joke!
The only reason we looked better the last 20 minutes is because S.J stoped playing offense and sat back letting us attack. What a joke 1-1 both scored by S.J.
whatever...MLS soccer is lame. Checketts needs to check out of the business. he ruins every team he owns or operates. fortunately he has a good coach of real. but he ruined the Knicks, Madison Square Garden, the Blues and who could be next?
I was at the game last night. Two observations:
1 - What a pathetic display of time wasting by San Jose. The 70th to 80th minue was them just faking injured and wasting time. Joe Cannon as well was terrible. I get that its part of the game, but this was excessive. I remember at one point the ball went out of bounds, and two guys for San Jose on totally opposite parts of the field went down "writhing in pain". It was really obsessive and completely obnoxious. Win the game like men. If you can't, you shouldn't be playing.
2 - Fabian Espindola was terrible all night. Wrong decision after wrong decision. 1 on 1 with the goalie and kicks it right into the keepers chest. Careless giveaways, blasts a 10 footer over the crossbar, and then just to top it off: the red card, giving San Jose ANOTHER excuse to lay around for 5 minutes.
We were lucky for the draw. I'm glad we got it. That was a frustrating game start to finish, so I was glad we got something for it in the end. Go RSL
This one belongs to Espindola. That red card may have been frustration. There were several opportunities laid at his feet, especially in the first half. All the sudden Fabi can't beat a defender and get a cross off! The red card just seemed to be icing on the cake. running on to corner kicks, free kicks, and crosses really hampered RSL. The ball was being played in to the right space, but all that found was a waiting San Jose centerback. NO movement up front at all.
I'm tired of spending money to watch ugly soccer!!! RSL improve or put me out of my missery and leave. I support you every week but what a waste, yet I still go.
Yesterdays news coverage "RSL not overconfident for game vs. quakes."
.........
It should have been 3-0 rsl.
The fireworks show was amazing credit to rsl and whoever their contracted with for those awesome fireworks
Hey Wasted,
If you are tired of watching ugly soccer, don't go. You must be an idiot if you are spending money on something you do not enjoy.
I love having the team here through the good and the bad, and do not consider it a waste.
makes the beautiful game ugly sometimes
Borchers was terrible on defense last night. He had about 5 really awkward challenges, most of which he was beat on. His wild stab at the ball (really horrible) allowed San Jose to walk in for a goal. Russell also looked shaky at times. Kreis wins a game 3-0 and thinks he doesn't need Olave anymore. Well, so much for that theory.
a point at home is -2 points really
5 wins and 5 ties?!?!?!?!
When will this silly sport realize that sports is about winning, not ties?
If you can't win RSL, you lose.
It was Les Olson Company. They do it every year and do a great job....
Fabian Espindola has been terrible in every game he has played in. He is constantly complaining about the other players on the team. His arms are always up in disgust with the officials and his own players. He has had so many errors on his part that he seems to think that they were some how caused by someone else. He just needs to step up and and improve his own skills and change his attitude about the other players on the team.
What a bunch of whiners. If you don't like MLS and you think RSL plays ugly, then stay home. You won't be missed.
@ 10:11
The reason Olave sat was because Kreis is trying to teach discipline. He was not happy with his red against Houston and so he was punished for it. I give him credit for doing that, and hopefully he will learn.
Everybody saying that Espindola has been terrible all year.. Do you guys even follow the team, or do you just look and see how many goals he has scored and base your opinion on that? He created a lot of chances last night, both for himself and for other players. We just need better finishing. He had a horrible lapse in judgement, but I have been impressed with his play.
Keep 'em coming boyzz!!! I want a pink one and a blue one and a yellow one and a green one and an orange one and a black one!!!!!!!!! Soccer is so cute because nobody ever gets their feelings hurt!!!! Ties for everybody!!!
Yet another soccer draw, how exciting.
Nope, you won't. There will be no one left at the RioT into to miss you at all.
PS Ties are the single largest reason Americans hate soccer. Stalling would cease if someone had to win before everyone left.
