I hope my own daughters can look to women like these and emulate their lives. Strong independent women.
Were they mormon?
Were they LDS?
It's refreshing to hear about women in history. They have obviously influenced our development as a nation, though official documents do not spell out them myriad ways they, no doubt, affected their husbands, fathers and sons.
NO THEY WERE NOT MORMON! And I'm related to one them so I KNOW. Not everyone has to be a Mormon in the USA to make an important mark on history. Get over it.
