Great article! They are both concerned with the overreaching centralized government and over spending money we don't have. Yet, are optomistic for our childrens and grandchildrens future. I wish I was as optomistic as they are for our future, but, I am looking reality in the face and reality says our politcal leaders are leading us down to destruction. Just this morning I heard on the news that even India, along with China and Russia are moving toward a new dollar standard, away from the U.S. dollar. Our government leaders are helping them in this endevour. What will the future hold without a strong dollar and more reliability on the central govt.? Scarcity and rationing. the exact opposite of the intended outcome by the meddling beauocrats.

Enjoyed your story. Hope you are right. I had a dream. The market really crashed. The Dow dropped to around 100. The government couldn't do a thing. It was bankrupt. Companies were laying off their total workforce. Retirement accounts disappeared. The only hope seemed to find land somewhere and start over. I hope that doesn't happen.

Only 5-10% of the stimulus money has been spent and Hannity is documenting the % of waste. Staggering! There are no quick fixes. Are American's willing to confront the real problem and pay the heavy, heavy price? No more quick fixes. I hope you are right. Common sense, long-term plans, no short-cuts, steady progress - those are the keys
Thanks to both of you | 10:36 a.m. July 5, 2009
You make me very happy to be an American and Frank, you make me very happy to have chosen to become a Democrat!

Only one thing | 4:29 p.m. July 5, 2009
There's one big thing that will stop the people from emerging from this crisis - the government.

Now if only the governement could be kept within limits. They can make roads, have a post office, a military force - for defence only. That kind of thing. Then let the states and the people take care of the rest.

Just a minute, though. Didn't I read about such a form of government somewhere? That's right! The Constitution of the United States!

Well they should swear to uphold it! They already do? What do we do when they break their oath of office? Oh, that's right: NOTHING.

I have to disgree with Webb on one point:

Bush and the Republican Congress DID try aggressively deal with a host of domestic challenges,

but when RRepublicans did NOT have a super majority and could not stop democrats filibusters,

in fact with the liberal republicans often siding with democrats, republicans had NO majority at all,

it made very difficult to deal wtht the challemges.

An can time it to the day when democrats took control congress over 2 and half years age,

that the economy started going south,

funny how that happened just as primaries were heating up.

and add as to that what the liberal denmocrats have done the last six months or seven months,

The Democrats are equally if not more to blame for our "domestic challenges".

and @I beg to differ, You will both outgrow both parties. Why? Because they have become the same party.

exactly what are these "State's rights" that you allude to Lavar?
some consistency, please | 2:01 p.m. July 6, 2009
I've never read Lavar to have any criticism for the super-majority in Utah -- only when it doesn't involve his beloved party.
