My whole family loved Jocco and we are sad to hear he is gone. We always looked forward to seeing him at trips to the zoo. He always seemed to be just as interested in us as were were in him. He had a good run and we are happy that atleast he went in his sleep.

I loved going to the zoo and seeing just how old that monkey could look. Poor thing. He was just so loved by all who saw him! At least he died in his sleep.

First Jacko, now Jocco! How will the world go on?

Hogle Zoo

Jocco, a 45-year-old capuchin monkey that some say may have been one of the world's oldest, has died at Utah's Hogle Zoo. Zoo spokeswoman Holly Braithwaite says Jocco died in his sleep on June 13. It's possible that Jocco, known for his cloudy eyes, mangy fur and largely hairless body, was 45 years old when he died. Braithwaite says Jocco was suffering from jaw cancer.
