He needs to make another romantic comedy about him and a much younger women. Those are always great. Maybe he and Miley Cirus could do something together. Just a thought.
He certainly has his personal issues, but I don't know how anyone who actually watches a few of his films could accuse him of being "overrated" (not that that term means much of anything nowadays.) Because, well, anyone who is able to make "Annie Hall", "The Purple Rose of Cairo", "Sleeper", "Match Point", "Crimes and Misdemeanors", "Hannah and Her Sisters", and "Alice" (and so on) couldn't possibly be overrated.
Woody Allen needs to hang it up.
Woody Allen is a genius. He's also an eccentric, self-absorbed creep. I think many of his earlier films were sheer brilliance. However, the last one I saw was really stupid. Maybe it is time for him say goodbye. But, then what would he do with himself. When you've spent an entire life doing nothing but concentrating on nothing but your own self absorption, there isn't much to give your life meaning when you're old. Really kind of sad.
Saw it. Loved it.
