Comments about ‘UHP seeks dismissal of racial profiling suit’

So let's get this straight. The UHP trooper hiding behind a small bush near Cedar City. Saw her vehicle coming at him 80+mph and he quickly identified that there were three black people in the vehicle to pull over.

Or did the officer see a speeding vehicle pulled it over, asked for permission to search the vehicle to which she said no. In which case he has the right to call for a K9 to sniff around. He didn't unlawfully detain her, never said anything racial, explained to her what he was doing....

When I've been pulled over the UHP has looked through my car. I wonder if that would be racism? Or is it only racism and discrimination when an officer searches a person of colors vehicle. Seems like that would be a double standard.

This lady is obviously looking for extra loot by playing the good ol race card that they learn in the projects.

This is using racism to cry 'woe is me'. Her traffic stop is "standard procedure" up and down the drug cooridor of I-15. If you get pulled over, you're getting searched. Doesn't matter what color of skin you have, the only catch is if you have out-of-state plates. The real shame is this lady is going to end up costing this officer tons of money out of his own pocket, and then everything will be dismissed.

There is no reason for him to have asked to search her car for drugs. If she had given indications that she were on drugs or otherwise, it would have. But denying his request to search her car does not give reasonable reasons to search the car

This officer was unwilling to admit his mistake and illegally detained this woman.

If this officer keeps his job, he will need to be trained in constitutional law.

Anytime a person refuses a search of a vehicle or home property it can be impounded and held pending a search warrant. This lady got off easy because he could have impounded the vehicle and had it towed off to secure it. The only one acting racist was the woman and using her race to deter and interfere with law enforcement. Because of race is no excuse not to obey the law and using it to interfere is also being racist. She is using her race to blackmail law enforcement for profit now as most racist do.

People of america must be willing to permit some inconvenience and investigating if we ever want to get rid of drug trafficking and illegals traveling through america. The majority of objections are by those breaking the law and officers have a duty to obey their duties, regardless of the race of the driver.
