Law was patterned after Oklahoma's, which survived court tests. Arizona's more strict was upheld also.

Both sides will be monitoring it's enforcement.

No matter what law Utah passes, the people who want open borders will fight it. With a glut of workers we will lose our middle class by the next generation.

Demand a law next year that requires E-Verify for all employers in Utah. It only takes a few minutes to check a persons legality, it's 99% correct and discrepancies are easily resolved.

Until then tell your Senators and Representatives that America's borders are a priority, and heavy funding to improve E-Verify further will save states billions in services.

So what don't illegals and their supporters understand about our immigration laws? It's very simple, if your are in the US without permission or documentation you are breaking the law, period. There is no negotiation or other fact need be considered.

Sympathy is not a law and not an excuse to violate our borders. And when illegals understand this and leave the country they can enjoy not being hunted down and prosecuted for breaking the laws of America. We americans have the right and laws to defend our country from all invaders, even those violating our borders. They have no rights and subject to our laws of illegal immigration.

For years our law enforcement departments whined that they had no jurisdiction to enforce illegal immigration and now they have it so use it. There is no longer any excuses to aid and abet illegal aliens. It is the job of law enforcement to enforce the laws and not choose what laws to enforce. They are duty bound and took and oath to serve and protect american citizens and its time they perform or get out of law enforcement. Incompetence and sympathy are no longer an excuse.

My grandparents came to the US legally, complying with every law and requirement so their children could be legal citizens. They were never given a free ride so why do illegals feel like they deserve a free ride now? I break the law - I go to jail. Why does this not apply to illegals? They break the law and get free services, free medical care and tax free income. When is Utah and the country going to wake up and put a stop to all this nonsense? Research how Mexico and other countries treat illegal aliens in their countries - they are imprisoned!!!! Wake up America!

The legal groups keep threatening to file suit in court. The reason that it is only a threat is because they really don't want to challenge SB-81 and lose. They know that other states such as Arizona, Missouri, and Georgia have stricter laws that have already been upheld in federal court.

One little item that is overlooked in all of this is that SB-81 allows anyone that loses their job to an illegal alien to sue the employer, and because of SB-81 they would easily win.

As for the public contracts, citizens are going to need to hold the cities, counties, and school districts that have contractors working for them responsible in enforcing the law, because no one else will. SB-81 has no enforcement mechanism other than the good will of these public entities.

SB81 shouldn't have even been required to defend our borders. Since the Feds won't act to defend the legal citizen then the states have to. SB81 doesn't even have all that many teeth. It should have been passed as it was originally written. But, no, it was revised and watered down. Still it's better than nothing. Tell me...why do we worry about our nation's security when the borders are left wide open? And we conduct a war on drugs and yet leave the drug traffic lanes wide open. Give me a break.
