Harve Presnell played Brigham Young at BYU in 1976 at the Marriott Center. As a dancer in that production it was fun to have him share his talent with us.
Brigham! with an exclamation point yet was the name of that live stage production written as part of BYU's centennial celebration. Anybody in the reading audience see that production and can comment on it and Presnell's performance?
My first memory of Presnell was seeing him in the Paramount Theater in Provo in the 1964 film version of The Unsinkable Molly Brown. We had to see it because MGM did the second unit filming near Montrose, Colorado, my mother's home town. He looked great singing in front of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison (twice) and singing in front of the San Juan Range near Telluride, Colorado. Some of the fleeting shots of Leadville Colorado were in fact Telluride in its last days as a mining ghost town.
