Where's Jay Evensen?

This is your pet project pointing out the greatest threat our community faces--not crime, not H1N1, not an economic meltdown--is fireworks.

Come on Jay. It's already July 1st and you haven't written your annual editorial rallying the mind-numbed troops.

While you're at it, you ought to push for the banning of all products and activities that present any hazard: guns, barbeque grills, yardsticks, horseshoes, rope, knives, spatulas, food processors, cars, motorcycles, four wheelers, horses (at least horseback riding), sticks, boats, waterskis, snow skis, matches, campfires, wood burning fireplaces, forks, tractors, garden shears, freezers, swings, swimming pools, automatic garage doors, football, basketball, soccor, lacrosse, baseball, all medicines, liquor, tobacco, etc.

Giving birth creates too much danger so that should be stopped. And for that matter, so should old age. In fact, living is too dangerous. So let's legislate that away.

You can legislate common sense, or you can practice it. I prefer the libertarian approch--and that's for the government to keep its filthy hands out of my life.
