would get a real PG, a vet who could shoot and run the team, instead of Price. Price did not run the team very well last year much of the time. That is why coach Sloan played Knight. Knight could not shoot but he knew how to run the team. Price is also to short to be an effective SG most of the time. If the Jazz are going to have a combo guard go get an effective one.
He is a fan fav. He does have energy. He does not make good decisions as a PG. That loses games. Sloan can find another project.
It should only take Maynor a year (maybe 1/2 a year) to learn how to run the Jazz. A one year Vet PG would be gone next year.
a non guaranteed contract? Then when Harp/Price are traded at mid season to save salary, a cheap PG can come back in trade for the 3rd PG.
Maynor should be able to run the team better than Price by mid season.
Non guaranteed contracts do not count against the cap unless they are on the books past the deadline.
Price may get a few offers. He's a decent backup and played very well with the starters when Deron was out to start the season.
Jazz will let him explore all his options, then offer a 1-year, vet minimum contract. If he doesn't accept, they'll move on to the next available veteran.
Price is as tall as Williams. Knight is 5'8 or something.
Doesn't know what he's talking about. Kirilenko should have been No. 1 on his list. He's going to saddle the Jazz with his overpaid salary for two more years. He should be the lowest paid player on the team, and he's clearly the most-overpaid player in the NBA. The guy is worthless now that he doesn't even play defense or hustle.
