i thnik if players don't worry about the money this season and play the game like they are skilled to play and if we can get jerry sloan to coach little
different. jerry thought he should a used price more in a rotation????it took last playoff game for that??/ /i think we can give lakers a good run if all our present players play like they are capable
of playing..lakers utah in west finals!!!remember!!!

I've figured it out

So Boozer opting in really only hurts the Miller family and let's face it since they own half the state already, 13 mil really isn't that big of a deal. But what the Jazz should do since they're stuck with his contract, and they're determined to keep Milap is trade Boozer for Bosh, both have similar one year contracts both want out of their current cities. It would be a win win for everybody. I know this won't happen but...

Keep in mind that the Jazz can't just trade Boozer and dump 13 mil, they would have to get about 10 mil back in contracts, and I think the Millers would agree that going over for one season is better than going over for the next 3 or 4 seasons

on again off again jazz fan

We just have to admit that Loozer pulled a fast one on yet another NBA team.
If he tried to play defense, and through pain, as hard and well as he tries to screw his teams over for money, there would be no problems.
He did it to Lebron and the Cavs, where he probably would have won a championship last year, and he'll keep doing it until he loses money, that is the only reason he didn't leave this year, the chance he wouldn't make more money.
There is no loyalty in this, just business and I have to admit that it makes sense for his bank account and his kid's college funds.
Doesn't mean I have to cheer for him or like him.

Eat Crow

Not Boozer as he made his best deal.

If we are behind the 8 ball financially that is not Boozers fault. If Millers and bought a painting for $40,000 and 2 years later it is worth $14,000 should they blame the painting? They were the ones who paid Andrei ridiculous amounts even though it seemed like a good thing at the time.

We get Boozer and Okur for $21 mil a year. Great deal in the market. Stop blaming Boozer for the Jazz's financial woes.

Boozer is a stud and each game he plays healthy this season is another "in your eye" to the shallow Jazz fans.

Millsap although a dedicated player is not worth selling the farm for. Some other team is going to pay him a Kirlenko amount of money, and he will be a painful loss for the Jazz but hopefully they have learned their lesson, if not they deserve to lose more.

Carlos we are happy to have you back!!!!!!

Boozer/Jazz did not attempt a contract extension. (unlike Okur)

The Jazz have stated publicly they will match any offers for Millsap.

Millsap (not Boozer) was in at the end of the game against LA - Game 5.

The Jazz did not sell their draft pick for 3 million - instead they are going to be paying 2.5 (salary plus tax) that a 5.5 million dollar net for a player who is going to get 12 minutes a night backing up Williams.

As for the Guy who was bagging on Millsap - He is 24 years old. Millsap starting numbers last season - 16pts 10rbs. Boozer starting numbers at 24 - 17pts 9rbs.

All these things point to the Jazz trading Boozer (not for Stoudemire). Trade needs to be 8 to 10 million less in salary than Boozer

Boozer to OKC for Chucky Brown and a Future first round pick.

Boozer to Detroit for Kwame Brown and future first round pick.

Multi players
Boozer, Harpring, Miles (24 Million) for Rip Hameltion and Orberto (15 Million).

The Jazz are not paying 80 million in salary and they are not letting Millsap go for 5 years (45 million) for Boozer 1 year.

I Don't Care What People Say

I want character and integrity first and wins second. People like D-Will, Korver, Harpring, Memo, Brewer, Price, Koufus, Milsap, and apparently our 2 new picks make me proud of OUR team and as long as they are competitive I will buy, watch and cheer! Let the A.K.'s Boozers, Miles, types go pound sand somewhere else.

it doesn't matter

If A.K. is still counted on to knock down an 18 foot jumper why bother.

RE: Hollywood

Spot on assessment of the AK deal. I recall O'Conner agreeing to a max long term contract if the deal could be loaded on the back end. I was worried about that then, and it has come back to bite us.

It is very popular to hate Boozer right now. I am excited to see how he plays this year. He faces a contract year, and he has already been rejected once. Now that he understands the reality, I think we will see him playing with effort, playing hurt, and maybe even a bit of defense.

As for Milsap. I love to watch the guy play. He shows effort. He is also undersized at his position. I think a max money deal transforms him from a scrappy blue collar guy to a "made" white collar athlete, and four years from now we have another AK type fiasco.

Let Milsap go boys, we may not have seen his best year. But as far as value for the money, this guy is history.

Let's start an anti-Loozer campaign. I am a season ticket holder, and I will be bringing an anti-loozer sign to every game next season. I would encourage all other Jazz fans to do the same. Let's force managment to make a trade!

What is sad is Boozer could have been a larger than life hero in this state...it really wouldn't have taken much... But his persona now will be hard to shake. I have tried and tried to say nah it the media creating this image of Boozer... but it has now become to difficult to deny that he is selfish and not really concerned with the team... Sad he could have been larger than life!

Millsap is going to get a contract about 45 million for 5 years. OKC is the most likely suitor, but they are not going to pay him 65 million. No team is.

The problem with your assessment of letting Millsap go. He may only average 16 points and 9 rebounds, but we can get that for 5 year a reasonable price. Boozer on the other hand we can only get for 1 year.

Would anyone really want Boozer for 1 year for 13 million or Millsap for 5 years at 45 million.

If the Jazz keep Okur, AK, Williams and Boozer long term (at 50+ million a year). Not only do they loose Millsap, but they also loose Brewer next off season. Teams that pay 4 players big money (Phoenix) Nash, Stoudemire, Ben Wallace, and Richardson - can't afford other any other good free agents. The Jazz cannot go long term with Boozer, Okur, Williams and Kirilenko.

The Cavs Were Right!

Now we understand why the Cavs dumped Boozer years ago. The Cavs understood he was over-rated...just like the Jazz have painfully come to understand. What a Bust!

is worth the tax penalties. He is proven himself to be a hard worker who is very grateful to be playing with the Jazz...

Just Get AMARE!!

Please somehow get Amare!!

I'm on board

It's funny that no other team wanted him. They must have actually watched tape of BOOZER playing defense.

Boycott the first game with an empty arena.

Jazz won't win a title unless they get a "true center." Love Money Memo but he has a European way of playing center (around the perimeter), and thats great and everything, but we need a big man in the post. Boozer is too small to fill that void. I'm a long time jazz fan, but I know they won't be able to do anything remarkable unless they make some trades to acquire one. Boozer obviously is staying because of the money, he can't make this kind of money anywhere else.

sign and trade

Do a sign and trade deal and get andre miller to convert to shooting guard. With him and Deron williams on the court our ball control and defense would improve, plus hey... it's Andre....

JAZZ Fan in the 415

Apollo Sun: I like your idea. its solid. I just don't see the Suns making that trade with the Jazz for competitive reasons.

I can see the warriors deal go down because the Suns don't consider Golden State as big or as consistent of a threat as the Jazz.

Bottom line: The Jazz need a CENTER that can protect the rim. A legit shot blocker/changer who can help the Jazz deal with teams that have TWO good big men, will help this team. I like Chris Anderson. Energetic, Shot blocker. Cheap, can guard the post. Doesn't need shots gets his buckets through hustling on offense...
PS I love Milsap.

Yes Apollo

That would be by far the best scenerio for us. AK doesn't seem happy here and he could become possibly a starter. While Boozer would fit the Suns persona and be a great contribution to them. Amare and J. Rich would fit the Jazz perfectly. It would bring in the defense Booze lacked, and a G that can shoot. Two concerns though-
1. Brewer is our starting SG. and he very well deserves it.
2. They may demand Brewer in the trade. Is that worth it?

To JAZZ fan in the 415 from Marc

I think maybe they would be interested. It's an equal trade IMO. If they went to GS they wouldn't get as much talent as they would with a trade with us. An idea that im not sure of, but we have two first rounders next season right? Ours(the Jazz) and the NY Knicks. Why not offer ours as well. We still have the Knicks first, and that will be more valuable than ours. Plus we all know how Sloan loves to play our picks, so it really might not hurt us at all.
