cycle. The economy slows, government, at all levels, claims it must raise taxes. The economy improves, governments have more money and they expand. The economy slows, the government claims it must raise taxes...
The taxes are rarely reduced when the economy improves, Utah's state legislature the past boom economy being a rare exception.

government is too big at all levels. If someone looked closely at the county, I'm sure there is much duplication in jobs- probably anyone working there with open eyes could tells us and a non bias non government audit would save tons......... when will it ever end???

The mayor's staff seems a little top heavy to me. If the Deseret News or the Salt Lake Trib wanted to report some real news they might investigate- but that will never happen. They are too busy being politically correct

As long as the Mayer and his staffs salary is also cut like everyone else. School teachers are losing thousands in pay a year while the administrators are not sacrificing a dime!. I'll gladly pay $10.00 a year more in property tax if it means a person is keeping their job.
