I'm glad to hear the three boys are fine but this Lopez dude is a real piece of work. Maybe Lopez should be given the dumbest criminal award. I just can't help laughing at this guy.

I guess they need to be confined against their will for about 10 years so they will know what it is like. Keep these idiots off our roads and out of society. I guess they want to be the judge, jury and executioner concerning something happening to them.

Taking the law into your hands definately isn't the answer. Hope this Lopez and the kid with them have learned that lesson. Now, not only is his car not going to get fixed, where he will be going now he won't need a car.

The article does not say that the kids did it. It only says that Lopez though they did it.

What a childish approach to his problem. At age 21 you would think Lopez would have the ability to think thru his actions to see where they would land him. He's not a kid anymore; taking someone's posessions to get your way isn't accepted from adults. But then I guess he's not much of an adult to have tried this apporach.

It's hard to fault Mr. Lopez for being upset about his car being vandalized, and the unlikelihood that justice would be served through legal means. But just the same, I believe kidnapping is a more serious crime than vandalism. (If the punks did it, I hope they're held fully accountable.)

What the article didn't say was that the kids has sprayed "for sale" on it, which lowered its value -- Lopez was hoping to donate it to the kidney foundation.

I don't think it was Lopez's intention to be a criminal. He reacted to the situation very badly. He was bulling the kids.
I don't know about you but if I had a brand new car and someone "ruined" it I would be really upset. ( I know I wouldn't bulling anyone though).
I don't know much about cars and some of you are just making fun of his choice of car. I know any new car costs a lot and maybe this guy had spent all he had. Why dump on him for that? You are just being mean!

Nothing better than grown bullies making themselves look stupid. Wait, Lopez was bulling those kids. Hmmm. I guess you have more in common than you think. A bully is a bully. It is one of the lowest things a person can be. Bulling leads to other more serious problems.

This wasn't "bullying;" this was KIDNAPPING! Dragging a child into your car by the throat, then literally holding them against their will while calling their parents to demand $1000 to secure their release is KIDNAPPING and EXTORTION! Just take a moment to imagine yourself doing the same thing, even though you know you never would. Now, what does it FEEL like you're doing? Kidnapping, maybe? RIGHT! It doesn't matter what your motivation is or how angry these CHILDREN made you feel.

the point I was trying to make is the guy did not wake up today and say, "Hey, I am going to kidnap some kids." He needs anger management classes and counseling.
There are some real sickos out there who need to be in jail for sexually molesting children. For selling children into pornography and prostitution. Get this guy real help not just jail time.

He overreacted to the situation. He let his anger rule him. I have seen parents let their anger rule them with their own kids. I have seen parents push their own kids around, push them into cars, and grab them by their necks and all of these things over trivial things. Are you going to go after parents who treat their kids like this? I don't think so. I don't think you even blink an eye when an angry parent loses it on their own kids!

And I didn't even address the racism posted by some. I guess they are more civilized then Lopez because their ancestors came over earlier. I don't think they are very civilized if they make these kinds of comments. Maybe they should go back to the countries their ancestors came from!

perhaps Lopez should get a slap on the wrist for kidnapping kids because it was justified...after all, any rational human being would grab all three kids, take them to a remote location and demand a ransom.

My advice to Lopez...call the police or have someone call the police if you think kids vandalized your car. Demand the names of the kids or get someone else to find out their names.
