Many physicians aren't doing as good a job as we should getting test results to patients, but there are many things patient's can do as well. The most common problem at our office is calling a patient and either getting a wrong phone number or a disconnected phone number. At our office we then would universally send a letter stating there are abnormal test results that need to be followed up and discussed with the physician. Often the post-office will return this mail back to our office because the address is also incorrect. Patients, make sure you have excellent contact information for your health care provider. If you never answer your home phone, give your cell phone so you can be reached easily. If you don't hear back on results within a few days, call the office and ask about the results.

oops

Sounds like a cash cow for an insurance company. You didn't disclose that preexisting condition cuz you never got the test results. Payment DENIED!!!

Better keep track of your dental work too.

The amount of dental work done that is not needed is staggering. Just for money.

Keep a copy of your x-rays and list of materials placed in your mouth and reasons for the work etc.
