What a nice and honest story. Im a proud and loving brother of Bernadette Gillies. I totally agree with her statements and feel the same emotional stance with her. I grew up with MJ and still have all of his songs on my ipod. Wish his family the best in this emotional time. Bless you and the Jackson Family. Dom

He was and is DIVINE!!!

Rep Lincoln

He contributed much to entertainment and some of his songs were truly inspiring and uplifting. Beyond that he was a bizarre man with all kinds of health problems and an odd attraction towards children. I would hardly call him "Divine". Don't get me wrong I'm not judging what will become of his eternal soul. God will judge him in that regard

If you're sobbing because a singer-turned-freak died, you need a hobby.

Did Michael Jackson ever do anything good with all his money? I don't recall ever hearing of a worthy cause that he supported with his fortune and fame. I've only heard of a life of self-absorbed excess. He could of done alot of good. Such a waste.

It is a shock to loose someone you admired. His music and moves were outstanding, but "Bad" and "Thriller" were not God loving, promote godliness endeavors. Where is the church that promote godliness and denounces those things that turn toward ghosts and goblins?

Our music idols and tv idols are the same now. Our churches lift up the artists like little gods, promote concerts and circuses, and other useless projects to generate money for the churches. We need a spirit of holiness and helpfulness if we are to make it through this move of God.

Don't comment if you don't know. He was listed in the Guiness W.B.R. 2000 for "most charties supported
39 of them.

If the money don't get you...

Is it Jackson whose being moaned here? I've been down this road a few miles now with Jim, Jimmy, Jerry and John.

Could Jackson be a metaphor of an individuals youth? With Michael's death comes the reality check for those who grow up with his music that have lost a few strides lead from the grim reaper's blade? You felt chill down your spine has the wind created by his blade inched nearer.

It just gets better. Wait until conversations with those who you shared events in high school lead off with: "You heard about Jack?" The names change like the names of pop artists on the top twenty. The follow up is much the same: "He's dead." Then, you get the gruesome details of his passing.

The firm belief that it can't happen to you looses some of its grasp on you and much of its comfort. Jerry proved to a previous generation that death happens.

I loved Michael Jackson's music, and as a matter of fact "Mr. Anonymous" who is so outspoken about hate of Michael, he has to be known as "Anonymous", I love the man for all he achieved in his life. He arose over a TON OF ADVERSITY! You don't have a clue, and frankly, neither do I! He gave, gave and gave! He loved children, and some made very evil, probably bogus accusations against him! He didn't have a childhood, and so he tried to recapture it. I try to keep childhood activity in my life with and through my children, and most people do to some extent. It's a carefree world and it's truly innocent. He had the money to carry it to the fullest and make up for a lost childhood. He was a fantastic entertainer, singer, dancer, choreographer and a man who wanted and desired peace and love for EVERYONE! He did a lot to cross and knock down Racial Barriers without being PUSHY about it. He truly was a wonderful man, and judgemental jealous bigots will always condemn him. The Fact Is HE IS "MICHAEL" A MEGA SUPERSTAR ENTERTAINER! God Rest.

After having read about the horrible treatment that the Jackson children endured, and especially what Michael endured from their father...I find it a testament to the level of will power it must have taken for Michael Jackson to survive, and to function at any level throughout his life.

Apparently, though, he will never measure up to the many 'superior' individuals who have been so gleefully kicking a dead man while he's down.

Ben

Oh, if I could have just heard Michael sing "Ben" one last time!

CougarKeith | 11:03 a.m. I'm surprised. You show decency I didn't think you had.

I guess even a billion dollars can't buy you time on earth. Life is short, it is time to prepare to meet God, let us never lose sight of that.

Uh Yeah.

I don't think there are enough stories about Michael Jackson's death. I think I have counted at least 6 or 7 so far! Just write one story and lets move on! Poor Farrah, Michael totally stole her thunder!

Yo, Davoe

You copied that list of charities straight from All Michael Jackson.com. A truely unbiased source! You forgot to mention that the "donations" include purchases made at silent auctions.

What percentage of his income did he donate to charity?

Jackson was know for excess not philathropy. Jackson was a great talent. He was not a humanitarian.

Big Dave

Jackson's child molestation and other behavioral problems will overshadow his early performance accomplishments. I say this because a week ago if anyone brought up Jackson it was always spoofing his insane behavior and other personal trouble. His music died the 90's.

Wayne Campbell IV

Do not underestimate this mans contributions to dance. Ever since a child I have been trying to emulate his dance moves the iconic moonwalk, the classic teabag, his seamless transitions and the great scissor kick. Michael you will be missed!

SLMG

We should be very careful who we choose to idolize. Michael Jackson was just a mortal like the the rest of us, he had talent and flaws in abundance just like everyone else. Idol worship is always wrong.

re: SLMG

Guess Ill have to tear down the 13 foot gold Jacko statue I built.

Howie

Again, many in our nation weep for someone whose personal life was a nightmare, yet people are trying to turn him into a saint. Michael Jackson is getting pass for his behavior and freakish life because he had voice and dance talent. If he would have been anyone one else--he'd been serving time for what he did to all those kids.

Michael Jackson's life should be a warning to any parent wishing stardom on their children.
