AM is where it's at! All you get is boring repeats of old, overplayed songs on FM during the day and incredibly annoying morning shows (excepting Radio From Hell) across all stations. At least with talk radio you get some intelligent conversation.
85% of my listening is on the AM dial. That is where the content that most interests me is found.
I don't favor AM or FM, per se. Wherever the content that I like best is to be found, that is where I go.
With satellite radio very few people listen to AM. I haven't listened to it in at least 5 years and I am very cool!
It's all in the programming.
Both AM technology and FM technology have their advantages and disadvantages. Most people don't care about the "technology", they DO CARE about the
"CONTENT". A ballgame, if it's of real interest to a listener, is far more Compelling than music on an FM channel.
The question should be: What is Compelling Content?
It's ALL in the Programming!!!
