get'em ma...

I used to live in South Salt Lake and am embarassed by the mentality of the people in this story.

Robert

Kill the dogs. Throw the owners in jail for 5 years. (I'd also recommend killing the dogs in front of the owners).

Whats the deal?

Pit Bull's and their owners seem to all have the same mentality. They for sure have the same IQ.......

I propose, "All pit bull owners are to be relocated to the far west desert."

When their "really sweet" psychopath dogs turn on anyone, they turn on the owners........problem solved!

Stupid!

It seems you guys do not know a lot about pit bulls. Pit bulls are not aggressive dogs. They are extremely loyal dogs. No wonder when told to attack, it attacked.
You will not find better behaved dogs than pit bulls, nor dogs that are more loving.
When they have crappy owners, they become like them.

Adios PBs

I'm not sure what I like better about this story, the fact that two pit bulls owners were jailed, or the fact that 2 pit bulls were swept off the street. Win-win.

PitVictim

Three Stooges, you are so far off base with your glorification of pit bulls and pit bull types. They were bred to be aggressive. Why do you think you refer to someone who never quits as a "pit bull"? You think they are so wonderful, then go look at the victims of these dogs on www.DogsBite.org . These dogs are killing people at the rate of one every 21 days. They make the headlines on a daily basis for their severe maulings. We're not talking dog bites here, we are talking maulings, life altering injuries, limbs being lost. PREVENT THE DEED, BAN THE BREED.

Missing the Larger Point

The story here is NOT pit bulls, it's LOOSE DOGS and the havoc they and their owners create for other dogs and people who are just trying to mind their own business. I have had NO END of problems just trying to enjoy a peaceful walk with my own leashed dog thru our neighborhood because of LOOSE dogs. And, unfortunately, city ordinances seem to support the notion that it's okay for dogs to be loose in their owner's yard. The problem is that a loose dog will almost always chase an approaching leashed dog and fights/confrontations between dogs and their owners are inevitable. I, myself, had a nasty verbal confrontation with someone whose loose German Shepherd chased my dog and I across a neighborhood and wouldn't relent. Cities and irresponsible dog owners have introduced a wholly unnecessary element of danger and risk into the simple act of walking a dog, and I can tell you that as a responsible dog owner who loves her dog and doesn't want her or me hurt by some loose beast, it makes me FURIOUS. Dogs should NEVER be loose unless behind a fence or in a house. Ever.

How misguided are some of you people... Dogs are a product of their enviorment and the people who raise them...for those of you who missed the key parts of this article let me point out the reality of the situation... The dogs were ordered to attack ... They were the object with which the person was attacked...how many times are the guns and knives blamed for assults ...obviosly the person(s) who trained the dogs to attack and subsequently used said dogs as weapon are to be held responsible for this horrible tragedy.

There's no bad breed of dog, just horrid owners!
