Sadly - that was funny, but let's stick with the topic of the story, shall we? You're definitely derailing the comments here.
It never ceases to amaze me how some of the commenters on this board (like "Sadly") get their jollies from poking a stick in the eye of other people, even people who are suffering. Warped little minds, I guess.
I wouldn't be surprised if the original design hadn't called for a redundant safety system but republicans controlled the budget and they characterized added safety as being pork spending. After all, they never stoop to using "public transportation."
My point being, it is easy to use any tragic even to back bite.
