Our last Stanford twin bigs was a failure.
Not Twins... | 8:17 a.m. June 23, 2009
Not sure how many times the DNews is going to report Blake (Soph.) and Taylor (Senior) Griffin as being twins, but they aren't....Just brothers.

Sorry but Amare in Phoenix is a far better deal than drafting some unknown. Kevin needs to make a deal to bring Amare to Utah. Phoenix wants him gone and they could use AK or some draft picks. With Amare in the middle, the Jazz could be dangerous.

Was that "Fantasy Pick" thing supposed to be funny? It wasn't last year, and is less so this year. Did Brad Rock contribute that piece?

And yeah.. Taylor and Blake aren't twins. They don't even look like brothers.

As for Amare, is he really an improvement over Boozer? Sure he's much more athletic, but I'd say he's every bit the injury risk Booz is, plus his mid-range jumper isn't as strong. Defensively he's no better (perhaps worse!).

We desparately NEED a #5. Memo is ok, but we definately need a solid force in the middle. We haven't had a great center that can block and make shots. Kevin and staff need find the BIG body to compliment what we have, someone who can play DEFENSE!!! That is Sloan's forte' and we need someone to fit into that system.

Why would we want amare. He is the exact same thing as Carlos Boozer. 20 and 10 on offense, and no defense.

I think we need a big nasty 5 to back up Memo. It would change the complexion of the team every time he's subbed in, just like Brewer and Korver.

Koufus could develop, Fez apparently has poor work ethic, and I don't see many strong 7-2 guys in the draft, unless Nevill got ripped in the offseason.

This seems like a poor draft year. Good thing we have that good pick for next year.

Amare could play d if he weren't in Phoenix.

Do we have someone using Miles name? Two statements about Stoudemire and they are exact opposites.
As for why he would be better for Jazz than Loozer, he has the tools to be a better defensive player than Kevin Garnett. If a coach could get him to play hard on the defensive end, he would be one of the best defensive players in the NBA.

Amare is not as good as Booze on the offensive side..check the numbers. He has at least as poor defensive skills, he is like a tall Korver, nice but not the least bit effective as a defender.

This draft only brings new Jerry hatred fodder. We don't play rookies why bother drafting them?

Anybody who gets drafted here should ask CJ what kind of pillow they need for the first 3 years to ride the pine.

Our hope now is with Kevin in that he might be able to make us some trades for quality players that will match up with our system. There was talk of MAggette and Don Nelson not getting along, we had courted MAgettee 2 years ago, now seems an opportune time to go after him again, especially since Don Nelson loves Kirilenko. With Magettee, Brewer becomes expendable and we can open up some cap space.

Come on Kevin don't let us down for another season. you have plenty of trade options, with Korver, Okur and Brewer, please get us something good.
Nevill in the first round? | 1:13 p.m. June 24, 2009
That's hilarious. I think a more appropriate characterization is that Nevill is hoping to sneak into the draft at all. Even if a team takes a chance on him with a second round pick, he won't make a roster and will be playing in Serbia either way.
Yeah, but | 3:02 p.m. June 24, 2009
Personally, I think that Kevin needs to give Utah a try - go for a home-grown boy who has proven locally that he can play. I don't think Wilkinson should be written off so easily - he's got heart and height - and the guts to do very well. I also think he'll be a draw for Utah fans - he just needs some exposure, and I'll bet he'll do it for a pittance.

Oklahoma's Blake Griffin, right, is the likely No. 1 pick.
