This is cool. I wish it had been around when I had two sons to bring. Now, my only grandson is only a year old. So maybe in a couple of years.

This is an awesome experience. I took a couple of my boys and I recommend it very, very highly.

You know, there's a lot of us older moms who would love to come with their daughters to a camp like this. We wouldn't mind hitting a volleyball or making a basket or playing racquetball or tennis. Could you ask Gaye if she might consider such an event?

Great program! I am so impressed with the vision of Cleveland and the others to put something like this together. You have made the world a better place.

What a GREAT program!!! I fondly remember spending hours and hours playing hoop with my father. It was among our best daddy/daughter time. What a wonderful way to create memories and bonds. Keep it up, guys! Spending quality time together is worth the price. Try doing it at home every chance you get! What a fabulous way to strengthen families! Way to go Coaches and Dads! And way to go supportive Moms! This story is going to make me smile all week. Happy Father's Day!
What?? | 1:00 a.m. June 22, 2009
This type of camp and activity only contributes to the problems that society faces. We should be focusing less on glamorizing athletes, and sports in general, and be more in tune with the problems that the world currently face. Maybe a camp to discuss global warming, and possible solutions, would be more productive for father son bonding. Or even better, a money management seminar for fathers and sons, so we don't ever have to face the sub-prime catastrophe again!! Lets get out priorities straight people!!!
wow!!! | 5:06 a.m. June 22, 2009
This is the exact reason why camps like this is good for the community and the world for that matter. Glamorizing the father and teaching his son that anyone can play sports and be a role model, also tune the child into reality and learns the value of family and important needs for the family like global warming and respect for the planet. Or even better, money management to support the family with wise decisions like bonding with your child to teach better the priorities of life through constant open communications, trust and honesty. Hey, it beats television and video games, another prob. with society. What?? A great thing this is. Any physical participation is good for this country, another social prob. in the U.S.!!! Go to camp people and get your priorities straight!!!!

Wow!! Amen.
What? You must not have any kids or I feel sorry for the ones you have. Father and Sons activities that create memories for a lifetime help create bonds for a lifetime and gives the fathers an opportunity to do a lot more teaching on other worthwhile subjects.

Fantastic idea. Congrats BYU basketball!! Best wishes Dave! We're praying for you.
good stuff until.... | 7:29 a.m. June 22, 2009
the one dad said "But you can't get that kind of time with your kid anywhere else."...really?!? you can't find quality time with your kid for 365 days unless its at a camp?....you need definitely need to get your priorities straight!!
It's nothing more..... | 8:44 a.m. June 22, 2009
than a Zooobie thing!!
RiverCoug | 9:08 a.m. June 22, 2009
Right, father-son bonding is nothing more than a zoobie thing. When I attended, there was a guy who played point guard at Utah State. Also, Alex Jenson was on the camp staff one of the years I attended. I guess they don't come anymore zoobie-ish than Alex Jenson. Hm-mm, I guess it's a ewet, zoobie, and aggie thing.

How can people knock this. I am fortunate to have a job where I have flexibility to spend a lot of time with my kids, but if my sons were into hoops I'd go to this event. We are interested in different sports and yes, we do family service projects that include enviormental issues. But anything that brings parents and their kids together is a good thing. Get over tearing down something positive.

RE: What

Next time you can't sleep at 1:00 a.m. why don't you do something more valuable with your time? P.S. Nuke the Whales

Ummm, yes, I in fact get time all 365 days a year. But not 3 1/2 days straight with one kid totally removed from all other distractions in a place that the kid loves. Stupid assumptions on your part.
