Why did the government do nothing to prevent this problem before it got started? Now, it will be much more expensive to remove the bears than it would have been to prevent their presence in the first place.

Well Clem ...You see it's like this.....We're the ones camping out in their back yard. I'm sure the Bears don't like the Government any more than you do.....But at least they (the Government) are giveing you fair warning. And are also trying to teach you how to cope with the situation....We already know what's attracting the Bears...Food !!!...And efforts to educate people like you are ongoing....So maybe you might want to listen to what you're being told right now.

Uh ,Clem what do you expect the government to do?The parks are where the bears live,WE are the visitors so it is up to us to rationally provide our own safety use our common sense,to use our own brains and stop expecting others to think and do for us.

Clem, What say that we get special permission for you to camp in the Avintiquin Campground. Perhaps you could have a talk with the bears and resolve this whole situation. Clem boy, you gotta understand that the bears were here long before you came to be. They will be here long after. Do not criticise the U.S. Forest Service for implementing more strict rules. I am really interested in what you think they could have done before it became a big problem. Its hard to sove a problem Clem, before one exists.

If you go camping in the forest you need to deal with the wildlife if not stay out of the forest. Humans are the invaders yet the animals are the ones to suffer because of the studid uneducated humans!!!
What | 7:28 p.m. June 20, 2009
do we expect when we are wining and dining on their home turf. With the aroma of hot dogs, fish fry and tin foil dinners etc etc floating around in the clean air of the forest? I would invite myself to breakfast, lunch and dinner if I was a bear or even a mountain lion.....LOL!!

would think that any "hard side-ed" trailer or vehicle is going to slow down a bear who wants what is inside.

Dear Clem, when you Red Necks visit my home you do it under my rules and conditions. Do you go to your neighbors and tell them how to live? Of course Red Necks do, but no Red Necks allowed in my home. If you don't want to play by my rules I'll just have to close the door(gate) so you can't enter.

Sincerely, Smokey
