I have a dream

My hope is that nobamas "healthcare reform" fails miserably.

Elected officials ought to get back to what they are elected to do and that is putting laws in place to make the private sector function properly.

We did not elect them to OPERATE car companies, banks, and hospitals.

They should legislate only what is necessary to make the existing systems operate in balance.

Unfortunately though the democrats and republicans are too blinded by the legalized BRIBES that are called "campaign contributions" to put proper legislation in place.

As a result they stand by and let the system collapse on itself and then run in and want to run everything.

Government fails at nearly every thing they put their hand to and yet now we want them to run healthcare?

I am from Canada. Socialized medicine takes ENDLESS tax revenue to support in Canada and they spend almost nothing on national defense because they are pathetic pacifists. That is the ONLY way they semi-afford it.

The USA simply can not afford a health system like theirs (full of flaws and waiting lines and lists) because we have to protect ourselves (and the world) against radical Islam.

Be afraid. Be very afraid

"We're getting closer and closer," Baucus said during a break in the meeting. "There's no doubt in my mind we're going to have a bipartisan bill."

This is bad news. Whenever Orrin Hatch starts dabbling in "bipartisanism" on anything you can bet the result won't be very pretty.

Please, Senator Hatch, remember that you're supposed to be a conservative. If you're not, at least pretend to be one when it comes to this critical issue.

Only a knucklehead would believe that a government run health care system would be cost effective, efficient or well run.

Gee

If they think the costs are staggering before we start, just imagine what they will actually be when/if it actually happens?

Ever hear of government program costing less than thought? NEVER. It always costs 50 to 100% MORE than they estimate.

That is how they try to "sell" it to the public to get you to allow them to pass it.

Then after they expand the government beauracracy and waste your money on something that never could have worked to begin with, they will say "we have a better plan" and then they will ask you for just another "little tax increase" to make it work.

And so the cycle goes, more tax, more waste, less results. Then comes the average lower standard of living (europe) which we seem to be trying hard to become. Want to pay $7.00/gallon like Europe?

That is socialism in a nutshell.
