Pleeeeease! Beat Houston into the ground tomorrow! RSL has the composure, skill, and heart to beat any team in the league...we just need to put them all together tomorrow to reclaim our place in the West. Houston is stinky, hot, and they wear orange...please crush them tomorrow! Hail ReAL!

A win tomorrow would be huge! Let's build off of last weeks momentum. Go RSL!

Wait, I'm confused. Is this article saying that the size of the soccer field can vary depending on the venue? Another reason I won't take the time to understand this game...

Dont worry, you dont play.
BTW, did you ever count the wire wheels of your bike?

Yes, the size of a "regulation" soccer field can vary within certain limits. I'm not sure why that would make it difficult to understand the game. I love watching baseball, too, and each venue has a different distance to the right, left, and center field walls. I just know that it will be harder to hit a homerun in some ballparks. See, not that tough.

Football pitches can vary in length and width varying between around 50 to 100 yards wide and 100 to 130 yards wide, but cannot be square. International pitches are 70-80 yards to 110-120 yards wide. The Dynamo has one of the smallest pitches and it depends on the formation you like to play and the players who available to play, This is part of the reason you can have in MLS such a home field advantage.
I think because of the midfield the RSL plays the width of the pitch doesn't affect them as much as other teams because of non existence of what i would call true wingers.
Can RSL win tomorrow definately, however Houston wouldn't be such a good team as they are since they haven't lost in 10 or so, and they dispatched Dallas (who have decent players) with relative ease and have won 8 of their last 9 conceding 3 goals in that time and scoring 16, obviously averaging just under 2 goals per game.
RSL have to be on top of their game no silly mistakes (looking at you Olave) and the midfield as agressive as last week.

As one that lives in the "hot, stinky...orange" place I just want to say we welcome you to Houston.

Go Orange!

Get off the board. If you didn't care about soccer you wouldn't read about it. Go back to Nascar and BMX you loser

I have my doubts we can win, but I'll be holding out hope that we do. I really believe Barca proved the 4-3-3 is the best formation in soccer. If Javi runs like he did last week we should roll em. If everyone just kinda goes through the motions we are toast. Let's hope everyone brings a good effort.
PS Anonymous | 11:26 I think it's funny you don't call out Borchers when he has let in a ton more goals. Olave would start on 15 out of 15 MLS teams. Anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves. He is good enough he could play in Europe. Olave is the real deal. Sometimes he makes umm reckless tackles but he is not the dummy a lot of fans make him out to be. We are incredibly lucky to have the guy. Also he is a freaking awesome guy to talk to (if you speak Spanish at least).
Hey Chadders | 3:54 p.m. June 19, 2009
Didn't realise Borchers plays in goal?????
My problem with Olave is that his mistakes tend to be glaring, he'll miss a sliding tackle, jog to get the ball and get beat, then later on in the game shows you how to do it right, he's very inconsistent, personally I believe Olave to be the better defende he has everything when he is on the top of his game, pace, aerial ability, can tackle, can score from set pieces but is inconsistant, you are right he would start on any team in the league and a few big teams in Europe when he gets that consistency in each game. To me Beltran makes a ton of mistakes too, he has played better recently and his fancy little turn last week against Dallas was well done, he played well on the left, his passing needs to improve, and wingert has been pretty consistent too. I'll be honest Borchers mistakes I don't really notice because to me they tend not to be glaring mistakes.
Here is an honest question cos I can't remeber, what was Borchers last big mistake glaring or not???

Sorry I don't know why I put Dallas I meant LA.
We have a really good team, to me lots of experience except if we play the front 2, I think it made a huge difference having Mathis play, he has played very well this season, really consistent, last season he looked poor, but credit die he has worked hard and his assists speak tons on the ball he's putting in the box.
BTW this message is for Yura when shooting it is important that you don't put the ball near the goalie in order to score, last weeks goal to me was bad goalkeeping it was struck too close to ricketts but he made a bad mistake, and also keep it low, high and wide ain't very handsome.
Play with the same intensity for the 80 mins Real did that last week for 90 mins we've got a good chance to win, let them get chances like LA did in the first 10 mins it'll be 2-0 after those 10 mins.

stick with the 4-3-3 and i think we have a good chance. If yura movsysian can break down the defense and score early we will win but if not we gotta just hope for some luck and a tie
this is huge.. | 7:29 p.m. June 20, 2009

I believe letting Ching score because he was out of position. I really do like Borchers but he's just vanilla.
