They're calling the fact that he was overweight a complication?? That's 75% of the U.S. population! It ticks me off that they're constantly minimizing the lethal nature of this strain by claiming that every victim has died due to a "complication." Apparently living and breathing are considered to be complications by the CDC. Sheesh.

Morbidly Obese or Overweight

To what extent was he overweight? It seems to me that they try to find some health problem, no matter how small, to minimize the problem that is at hand. I'm not sure how being a little overweight is going to cause your lungs to fill with fluid.

Jaman was significantly overweight. It is a significant risk factor so don't take offense if you are overweight. Just realize it puts you more at risk.

Boise/Pam

How sad for his family. I didn't know cold symptoms were anything like this particular flu.

FalseStatistics

It is difficult to believe the statistics that are being reported.

This is a bigger issue than the CDC is reporting.

Check news from other countries around the world and how this is growing and for accuracy on numbers in population.

True Reports on this issue will help people!

With a health system that is for profit, it is not in their best interest to keep people well.

United States needs a non profit medical system.

a friend

Jaman was big, but no bigger than the average overweight guy. He was not obese.

Jordan

First of all, sincere condolences to his family.

Yesterday my 16 yr old daughter was diagnosed with this flu and today I am showing symptoms. By talking to our friends we are finding that everybody knows somebody who has this. I couldn't have said this about the seasonal flu this past winter, so I know that this is extremely widespread here. I live in Layton. I had to go to 3 pharmacies to find medicine as they are all out. The pharmacists say that as soon as they get in a shipment, it's gone.

Not being accurately reported by the CDC is a gross understatement.

YOYO

Jordan- If you have symptoms then shouldnt you be staying home?? For someone complaining that its a bigger problem than the CDC is telling us, why are you contributing to the spread of it by going out in public to VARIOUS places it sounds to spread it???
