You know, back in the day, the Motown production company "created" the look and sound of its stable of talents. The vocal harmony groups were told what to wear, songs were written for them and they were told how to sing them. Not so very different from the boybands of today.Very similiar to the boybands of the 90s and Il Divo. Yet they were never under the critical scrutiny the more recent groups suffer.

A review of your past reviews........seriously?

To StanSmith

I thought he was explaining his job and not reviewing his past reviews. Go back and read it again.

If a negative critique is sincerely given so that the artist(s) can improve tell me if Il Divo originated by being put together and told how to dress how can they change the past and why should they when we like them just as they are? That would be the height of stupidity to change the very thing that makes them popular. By the way I have never heard a critic say that Il Divo can't sing.

Did you read Scott's review? He mentioned IL Divo's origins for reference and then wrote about what could have improved the show. like the dancing bit. He never said they coldn't sing. I went to the concert and left early because it was boring. they could really sing but they just walked slowly in circles

It's easy to say what would make a show better. If Il Divo would breakdance mid song while shooting fireworks from their coat sleeves all the while never missing a note that would be better. Or they could perform a tribute song to Devo and sing "Whip it" complete with red hats that would be better. They could summon Pavarotti from the grave for an encore. I could do this all day. In fact Scott let me have your job!

AAAHHHHHHH!!!

This article wasn't about Il Divo!!! He was using a life experience to relate to his job and his passion. I've read reviews by Mr. Iwasaki about bands I know he enjoys, but the reviews were not favorable. Why? Because he's doing his job correctly. Why should this man have to "explain" his job to anyone.
