I truly can't believe that anyone with 2 IQ points to rub together believes the govt can provide an efficient healthcare coverage system.
The solution is to LEGISLATE private coverage and mandate participation. If everyone was paying in there would be plenty of money to cover.
The problem that you have now is that mostly only the people who are heavy users are the ones on the plans.
LOTS of generally healthy people just bail on the coverage/premiums BY CHOICE because it is too expensive.
Hence the companies continue to raise premiums to pay for the heavy users that remain. The system perpetuates the problem.
Unfortunately though legislators have accepted bribes in the form of campaign contributions to allow insurance companies to continue to do what they do.
Employer sponsored healthcare should be banned. This is just another avenue to get away with charging higher premiums.
If I go buy directly from healthplan then it is cheaper but I use employer sponsored because the offsetting advantage of pretax is JUST ENOUGH.
DEMS and REPUBLICANS have been bought off and will not do what is right.
Plan is to tax you more and give you lousy "coverage".
to what a joke, your comment is right on.
OK, why are we RUSHING to put this bill through? The gov't ramrodded a flawed stimulus package thru without it even being read and now they will want to do the same with health-care. Hey looney-libs, if this would have happened with GW you would be pitching a royal fit. Why aren't you pitching one now? Now is the time to either put-up or shut-up.
