Douglas was my brother in law. He was the kindest, gentlest soul on the planet. All he made he gave away to charity. He cared for everyone and would never harm a fly. It is despicable to think that this horrible man took the life of someone so amazing! I hope the judge takes this into account when he is sentenced.

Douglas worked with us. He was a quiet gentle giant always doing good. We are so saddened to hear this news. We will never forget this man who spent his life doing so much for others. The "can man" will be remembered as we continue to recycle at the office in his memory. Our thoughts are with his family.

To the family and community that knew Douglas. My deepest apology. I am sorry that it took this long to have justice for Douglas. For the 10 plus years that I drove Douglas around to do can runs, grocery shopping, and doctor appointments I had never met any one with the most positive out look and love of life. He loved doing volunteer work for the library and others. All the money from the cans went to school reading programs. I will make it my mission to make sure Quent gets what is coming to him. Again my heart goes out to you all for the loss of a great brother, brother in-law, uncle and friend.

Doug was the sweetest most caring person I have ever come across. I will always remember him as th "Can Guy". He did so many things for others and hardly anything for himself. He was a kind soul and will never be forgoten in my heart! We miss you Doug! As for Mr. Evans I hope he stays in jail forver for what he did to my friend. :(
