Talking pictures: 'The Incredibles' leads the list of best Pixar films

Yeah, Pixar has quite the track record. One wonders if it is their self-proclaimed emphasis on the "story," at least more emphasis than on the latest pop-culture jokes that quickly date so many other animated films.

My top 3 favs are "Finding Nemo," "Wall-E," and "The Incredibles." (But I haven't seen "Up" yet; will go next week.)

Pixar does do better with its family-themed films. That's why I personally preferred "Finding Nemo."

Pixar has not made a film that I didn't like, but, personally, Wall-E strikes me as more compelling than any of the others. What we are doing to our earth may be exaggerated in that film, but it holds up a mirror to ourselves and teaches us what we truly are: self-centered, gluttonous and disdainful people. Any person on a ship at sea knows you have to take care of the ship to survive. Spaceship Earth, by contrast, is being terribly trashed and, eventually, we won't have an earth to even escape from.

Pixar is absolutely brilliant in their process. I rank their 10 movies as such:
The Incredibles
Wall.E
Ratatouille
Up
Finding Nemo
Monster's Inc
Toy Story
Bug's Life
Toy Story 2
Cars
What makes Pixar great is that this list is different for everybody, and yet most agree that they are all good films.

As a parent of young children and a movie lover, I am a huge fan of Pixar. They make some of the best movies out there that will stand the test of time as classics. Thank you for being so focused on story telling, and not attempting to get the cheap laughs that so many other studios do.

I love Pixar. They make movies that kids can enjoy without potty humor, yet they don't talk down to the audience. Adults can enjoy their films as much as kids. They don't sacrifice story or dumb it down for kids. They also don't use farts for punchlines.
Hollywood could take a lot of cues from this studio. Not one of their movies has been unenjoyable. My least favorite was Cars, and even that was a quality product.
