Interesting article. I hope to be able to visit when I'm next in Salt Lake City. But, I have one question re. the aricle. It states "Elder Marlin K. Jensen, church historian/recorder and member of the Quorums of the Seventy, ceremoniously shelved a final artifact a scrapbook from President David O. McKay of his 55,000-mile "world tour" as an apostle in 1921." My word of concern is "final". Is this not intended to be a "living" library, with new volumes or artifacts being added in the future?

I think the photo captions explains more: "ceremonial" last book. Kinda like cutting the ribbon or putting mortar around the "last brick."

I just got back from the open house. It is a very impressive library/archive. They had a section about audio recordings including some older recording materials including wire and wax cylinders. They did have some impressive items on display including a volume of the journal of Wilford Woodruff, one of the few remaining copies of the "Book of Commandments", and the revelation book mentioned in the story.

It wasn't very crowded. I didn't have to wait in line. There is a movie you have to watch before the tour begins that is a bit over the top but other than that I really enjoyed the tour.

I love doing Genealogy. You never know what you might find out about your ancestors and how you could be related to History. Everyone should try it.
