Devil Softball Player

CONGRATS LAUREN!! YOU HAD AN AMAZING YEAR AND YOUR AN AMAZING SOFTBALL PLAYER!! GOING TO MISS YOU LOTS! CONGRATS TO SHELBY TOO YOUR A BEAST :-)

svrhs

congrats to all that made it, as a coach Ive seen first hand the talent there is among these young women, I'm amazed one young lady from SJ can be injured all yr. Have the most K's, limp around the bases, play the last few games of the season and get 1st team hhhmmmm, There is other young ladies on other teams that could have been more more deserving. oh well life moves on

Concerned softball fan

I find it odd that all but one girl on the first team allstate play in the southern regions. Apparently a 588 average,50 hits,40 runs and 39 RBIs is not enough to constitute a first team allstate selectionif you play in the north?

concerned as well

amen! striking out all yr and hitting one home run does.

As a parent of a northern region player, I don't find it odd at all that most of the first-teamers are from the south. The Region 12 was clearly the dominant region as demonstrated in the state tounament.

@Concerned

The coaches select the teams. If your team is not represented, maybe the coaches in your area didn't vote. Blame them.

I love it

I love it how only 3 ppl from Manti made it, guess next time you'll have some class.

Fair

Coaches need to recognize talent and vote for those that "deserve it." Many times coaches will nominate somebody b/c they are a family friend, there "nice", or they good at other sports so therefore they must be good at softball. They have been all-state in two sports lets help them out and round it up the three. Lets have them pinch hit, just so we can give them academic all-state, eventhough it hurts the whole team.

Me Myself and I

Parents and let down fans need to realize one thing. There will always be players who deserve to make these teams who don't. Thats the way its always been. Don't diminish what these athletes have done by pitching a fit in a public forum about how unfair it is. Life is unfair last I checked some people use their disappointments in life as motivation to get better. Others get bitter and try to bring everyone down with them. The bottom line is all these girls who participated in softball this year worked extremely hard and theres not one person on this All-State team who wouldn't trade it for anonymity and the Championship trophy. Congratulations to all those who did your best and worked hard all season and congratulations to all you girls who made this All-State team.

Red Devils!

Shelby and Lauren rock and totally both deserved it! good job you guys!

that's for sure.

They are making up for Volleyball sense she didn't get a doctor's note in time for her to play. If that is all you have to do is hit an grand slam to get first team then i should of got it. Besides limping around the bases & being stupid to even play basketball after the doctor told her not to play, then blowing her other knee out. I hope Heather Meyer gets a scholarship & deepens her career in everything not just sports.

San Juan Player

dont you know that these players are voted in by coaches?? they voted for heather to be on First Team. But it's ok if your mad about that cuz if a girl who was limpin around the bases got first team over me, like she did you, i would be mad too! just shows that she is probably better then you while playing injured.

state tourn. fan

I have had the opportunity to attend state tournaments for several years and watch most of these girls participate in region play and state games. This year I watched a young lady who's play at a State level which was unsurpassed by most. She made numerable diving catches in the field, many hits and RBI's, but what I think she will be remebered most for at state was the game against Juab.
The Wildcats were down 5 to 2 when Richfields defense kicked in to hold the wasps scoreless the rest of the game. this defensive rally was led by the left fielder and catcher. With bases loaded 3 different times the fielder made throws from deep left field to get the runners out at home. Juabs coach finally got wise and stopped sending the runners home. Richfields offense slowly picked away at the score, with the final score being 6 to 5 for the Lady Cats. Good job JONI and McKENZIE you both had a great year. Wish Kenzie could of been on this team with you.

Stop being negative

Wow I can see the jealousy of some of you. Lets see how many of you have guts enough to comeback from two blown knees and still perform better than most of the other athletes in your classification. What you didn't see was the work that young lady put in at practice even though she wasn't able to play. Most kids run away and don't want anything to with the team while rehabing. Don't be mad because she was better hurt than others that were healthy. Instead of tearing down maybe you doubters should build up. The funny thing is 10 years from now you won't even remember who was on the team. Nor will it make a difference. There is a trophy at my high school with my name on it that says i was the MVP for baseball. Right next to it is one that says I was the Most Improved Player. The 2nd one was the correct one. Funny thing is no body cares 20 years later. Not even the kid that was the MVP.

someone

Its so funny to me that everyone hates manti we killed you guys so deal with it ok if you were good at everything im sure people wouldnt like you either
