Congratulations Brother,

Dale has been a great example of what it means to be customer oriented. As the article indicated, his personal convenience has always been of lesser importance that the customer's need. A customer comes to the store after he has closed the door, and needed a last minute gift for a son, daughter, or spouse. Dale has let the customer come in and shop for what they need. No "Were closed, sorry. Come back tomorrow." No, "I'll give you 5-minutes." That customer was as the one who came in an hour before closing or first thing in the morning.

In fact, his example at Orchard Drug has become the standard by which I measure every other business. Do the shut you out before the closing hours? If your in, do they try and push you out the door? The ones who let me finish what I came to the store for, or who come and help me find what I'm looking for faster, are the ones where I like to shop. If someone lets me/you in, hurry because they have needs as well.

Thanks for your example.

Thanks for giving Dale his "15 minutes" of fame; he certainly deserves it! Thanks also, for your interesting columns each week. With all the bad news in the world, they're a nice respite.

You are the man Grandpa. I don't know anyone who works harder and you are 77 years old. You are an amazing man and a great role model. I will go out on a limb and not just speak for my self I would bet all of your grandchildren would agree!

Dale is and has been since I met him in 1968 a great example of Christ-like love. He cares about the other person's needs before his own, and he handles all situations with a cheerful attitude. He is always willing to do whatever he can to be of service to others, even at the expense of his own convenience. I love Dale very much and appreciate how he welcomed me into his family with open arms and heart.

Finally, Dale you are getting recognized for your 'other success' story... your drugstore. Dale has been a '2nd' father figure to me since I moved out to Utah in 1981 from Michigan and first met the entire Loveridge family. They all welcomed me in with open arms; this is his family trademark and has made an everlasting change in my life. Dale allowed me to live in his home and further taught me how to be a better husband and father to my family after my mission and prior to my temple marriage. The time he took to be a 'father' to me has made me a better man today. I knew that Nada and his family is the greatest blessing in his life, but I know that he has felt that the service he has been providing at Orchard Drug is more than just a career, but a lifetime calling of service for him to his friends and neighbors in that area. His Christ-like attitude in all that he has done over these 5 decades of service has kept his friends/neighbors coming back again and again. Congratulations 'DAD' for your 5 decades of successful service! Love, George
